He says he isn't elite and keeps going back to the A&M game...then when Holtz and Pollack say he is elite he gets offended and starts snapping back with attitude. Damn Desmond...calm down man, I know you are still wearing your Denard Robinson pj's but don't cry on national television because everyone else can see that AJ is a baller.
He said he hasn't been tested under duress, so Pollack, Blackledge, and company say "What about that LSU drive?" Then Desmond says "Well, what about that A&M drive?"...he brought up the A&M game at least 5 times.
Tessitore: "But Desmond, this guy was a legitimate Heisman candidate before that game.."
Desmond: "No he wasn't, not in my book."
Howard is a friggin dumbass fool. He must still be butthurt about Bama giving his Michigan team the beatdown on opening weekend in Dallas.
There went any respect I had for Desmond! How can anyone not like AJ....oh wait...I forgot...we DESTROYED his alma mater! Screw u Desmond! Roll Tide!
I think to be considered elite he needs to quit missing wide open receivers like he did in the LSux, TAMU and UGA games. We were very sluggish at times in all of those games because AJ was not delivering in the passing game.
He can start being elite tomorrow hopefully.
Desmond is just pissed that AJ's BCS practice golf cart is more pimp than his.
He had game winning drives against LSU and Georgia under extreme pressure where he threw the game winning TD pass. The Texas A&M game was not good but as a whole he has been excellent this year. Not to mention how he played in New Orleans last year.

This is a correct statement. Elite QBs like Matt Leinart (college), Sam Bradford (college), Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Joe Montana - those guys NEVER miss(ed) open receivers or had sluggish games. (sarcasm generator fully engaged and moving at "ludicrous speed")

Early in the season Desmond was hyping EJ Manuel for Heisman pretty hard up until the NC State game. It was very strange how he kept talking about that one player for Heisman half the season.
AJ has a QB rating of 173.1 in a close 2nd place behind Arron Murray. Exactly what does he call elite?
Your statistical support is of no concern to guys like Desmond Howard and Tim Brown. DezHow likely still considers Arm Punt Robinson an elite QB.
AJ is easily one of the most underrated players in the country. He's also played on the big stage numerous times as a starter. Howard proves once again what a moron he is.
Not sure if we are watching the same show...Desmond may not have glowing remarks about AJ, but he definitely seems to be pro-Bama on the Experts. He's really sticking it to Lou to lol.
Those passes that was missed, would have made those game a lot easier!
If a QB that is 24-2 in the SEC has a NC and playing for another is not elite there is not a QB in college FB that makes it.
I guess playing hurt wouldn't effect one's passing ability. Give the kid a break.
Aj played with busted ribs after the mst game. He should be healthy now so we will see after this game what dh thinks.
Guess you tuned in late.
AJ lit up texas a&m. It might have been his best game IMO. He was dropping bombs on the aggie secondary down the stretch. Compare Landry Jones game vs a&m to AJ's.
Yeah. He seemed annoyed that people would consider him an elite college QB. ESPN should hire more intelligent analysts like Matich instead of the former players they tend to hire.
Ive never really been a fan of Desmond on ESPN.
I agree with this. I think AJ is an above average QB, but far from elite. His high completion % comes from all of the screen passes & dump downs. He's been inconsistent throwing the ball down the field IMO. But he does have the ability to rise up in big spots and nobody can deny that. When the game is on the line, he gets better.
All the debate in the world about elite or not means NOTHING.
WIN tomorrow night, and AJ can flash his rings for the rest of his life. WIN, that takes care of all the talk.
