For the MDB's Centennial, there will be a combined performance of the current MDB and a boatload of alumni. Should be pretty epic.
The band has been a big a** boatload of fail ever since they got rid of the capes and mandatory pyro, IMO.
I miss Kathryn Scott. Ol' girl knew how to put on a show.
Our halftime show and pregame sucks. Bad. The pregame is so disappointing. Teams ready to come out to thunderstruck and right as they come out everything stops so the GDB can play Yea Alabama. Yeah yeah yeah work hard blah blah. It sucks. Let thunderstruck play a little longer to build the hype. The GDB doesn't have to play right there. They can let the team run through them and then go to their seats.

Hard to get in to the half time bands. all the music sounds the same.
We will be watching the #1 team in the country leave the field to go into the locker room for halftime. We will be getting more food to eat and going to the bathroom again during halftime. Return to seats just in time for the second half kickoff.
What's this about the band?
P.S. Played trumpet for 10 years, played and marched in the 1963 Rose Parade as a sophomore, one of only three in the 350 member marching band. Can't recall ever watching any band "perform" at halftime. Sorry but enjoy your time. They are fun. They're just not football.
I hate to say it, but the song selection and overall design of their performances is pretty weak. I have heard Basket Case and Les Miserables so many friggin times, I just mentally tune our band out now. Other bands play Led Zepplin, Ozzy, etc. We play F'ing Les Miserables. We are the laughing stock of bands these days.
That's not a shot at the band itself but rather in leadership and song selection.

Comment and serious question...
I love the MDB.
However, whose idea was it to feature a piano singer's tunes for a marching band at halftime? Bill Joel, really?
Well, this escalated quickly.
