We are just spoiled when it comes to the OL. Think about it...At LT we had Andre Smith who played for three years then went in the 1st round. Then we brought in JC who played two years and went in the 1st round. Now we are starting CK who was a 5* and the top OT in the country two years ago. If we sign a solid JUCO OT or a big name OT in this class then I think we will be fine on the OL.
i feel you. we have monsters starting this year, but you take a glance at our reserves and it is a bit underwhwelming...although usually 3 star guards and centers turn out to be all you need...we need a show stopper at tackle this year to sign
I don't think we even need a JUCO OT. AS has looked good at RT. IF we take a tackle IMO it is just b/c we found the right one.
We don't really even need a show stopper tackle. Just one with gret size that can develop. Cyrus will be fillin that spot for the next 2 years so we just need to groom one and ten maybe sign an elite LT in 2014.
Kinda like 3 stars Vlachos, Warmack and Steen that have started the last 2-3 years?
since saban arrived, we have had the following:
A defense that scares opponents..
An offensive line that scares opponents...
A RB (multiple) that scares opponents...
A WR that scares opponents...
A TE that scares opponents....
A return man that scares opponents...
A kicker that scares opponents (Tiffin's last year)...
If we had a QB come along that scared opponents... you're talking end of the world-type football... mass suicide headed by Cam Newton, Chiznsdfgnnik, Pat Dye, Bo Jackson, Terry "Napoleon" Bowden...
I don't care what happens with qb recruiting, so long as they are winners.

yes. that is exactly what my post said
Comical as usual.
I have no problem with any discussion. But to try make it sound like we need a QB or its over for us is to dramatic for me. You can always wonder what will happen if the sky falls in the morning..But the sky never falls. Things arent perfect but they are never as bad as the worst case..
You guys have been pushing this, we cant discuss anything negative on BOL agenda...I dont have a problem with it.. My answer to all worst case scenario threads is and always will be Nick Saban...Saying your coach has a plan is dumb if your coach is Gene Chizik or Mark Richt...If your coach his Bryant, Saban, Knoll, Landry Rockne etc...then its the perfect answer to all questions...We have one of those coaches who is the answer..Im just saying enjoy it while it lasts..Someday we'll have to worry about this stuff again..Today is not that day..
Who's said its over for us?
im not saying we are in trouble. but we cant wait until aj graduates to sign our QB of the future. have to plan ahead
and yes i am sure saban is also aware of this, and he also has a plan
I will always counter with this, and it is going to go over like a lead balloon but, Saban was also the coach in 2007 that lost to La Monroe, had a plan in 2010 when we lost 3 games that were all winnable, and was also the coach in 2008 when we finished a great regular season by dropping the last two which culminated by getting embarrassed in the Sugar Bowl by Utah. Do you know what is so important about those years? Players players players. Saban is the absolute best coach I have seen in my lifetime but even he has to have players to win. You can't just go along ignoring the depth chart and say that no matter what Saban has it handled. Do you really think we would just roll right along if AJ takes a helmet to the knee or his right hand is broken hitting a player's helmet? No offense to Ely but it shocked a lot of people we even offered, PS (in my eyes at least) has a good bit of potential but it is just that; potential, and Alec Morris isn't even on campus. I wouldn't feel that bad if the team were put in PS hands but if he left we would have problems. We needed an elite kid last year and we desperately need one now.
God, give me patience today. If given strength I may beat someone to death.
