Lets try not to act like a bunch of scorned ex- friends. We are the bell of the ball. After finishing with the #1 class 4 out of 5 years, 2 out of 3 national titles, and owning the first round of the NFL draft... we are the the best thing going. I love RF as a prospect and couldn't care less if he goes somewhere else. We are going to keep on winning regardless.
I say let the kid do what he feels is best for himself. I don't have to congradulate him or wish him the best.
It's his life and he should make his decision based on what ever he wants.
Plus one for you sir....I'll truly be embarrased when people crank up the "He must be getting paid" and "I don't really like him anyway" threads...my Auburn buddies will be down here to needle me shortly. My reaction: Good get for them, disappointment for us, but it's a long way to February and I have faith our class will be just fine...
You don't have to congratulate him either.... ;>)
It's WAY PAST TIME for this kid to do this imho. Way past.
Sometimes maybe, just maybe - the best thing for a recruit is to open things up and look elsewhere? I know guys, we all want the best of the best. No doubt. But at some point, when you have been rumored (and if its being rumored often its coming from someone other than just people making things up)...at some point the back and forth mess - the I'm 100% days before only to then change again become more of an issue than the good can come from it currently.
The way we are recruiting, the talent we have currently, the talent we will continue to bring in - we don't need kids who continually have no idea what they want. I fully understand this is the toughest choice any of these kids have made in their lives so far. But, we are at a place now that we know were going to get elite prospects. If that means we have to step back from one or so who continually have all this extra mess floating around them, then in mho its best. I have said this a million times and in times like this it hits home even more....
We don't want ALL the elite recruits - we want The Right elite recruits.
For us now at this stage, Right means one thing more than any other - Truly 100% committed to all things Alabama. Its already going to be the toughest challenge of these kids lives working for what Alabama expects of them. Add in the incredible talent they have to compete with the first day they step on campus and it becomes a situation where every kid better be fully committed, or they simply want make it here, not now. In years past, sure maybe. But not now. Good luck to the kid. Maybe he steps back and can get things clear in his mind? Its way past time for him to do this imho. Way past time.
