With collins, haha, j.williams, and perry all at saftey...what would the chances of sunseri moving to LB be. He'd be a perfect LB to have against the spread (wiht sban looking for more athletic LBs that can move in space).
I could see him playing LB in certain situations because I think he's great at blitzing and run stop. However, I am an idiot.
His biggest problem is coverage in space. He will most likely be used in nickel and dime and in blitz packages. Against the spread is when he killed us. They just attacked him the entire game.
I see what youre getting at, but i still think those athletic linebackers would have to be very good against the run as well and im not sure he could do what our linebackers are asked to do on run plays. Even CJ "struggled" against the run compared to some of our other LBers and he was a good 20 pounds heavier than Sunseri.
hes decent as a dime back but i really hate to see him covering wide outs...really dont think he needs to be on the field at the same time as cj and cj never needs to come off
I think Sunseri is a heck of a ball player, but he does not have the lateral quickness to play safety in the NFL. I think he has the natural football instincts and drive to play in the NFL one day, but if he wants to stick it will have to be at linebacker. He needs to add about 20 lbs and look at moving to SAM.
I must have missed that game but I thought I watched them all. C.J was the best LB in pass pro and aginst the run.
He was by far the best combination of the two, but Nico was our guy in base against the run. That is why LSU had so much success against us. They kept us in our base formation most of the game with their personel, and CJ wasnt on the field. Im not taking anything away from him, but thats the whole reason he came back this year, to show scouts he IS an every down LB.
When he got in late against GA, he got toasted by their TE. He's too small to play LB and not nearly quick enough to cover WRs
I've said it before but I think DJ Pettway could have an impact at linebacker whether it's rushing the passer or playing run downs. He's a talented player.
OP, I have been thinking the same thing except not about Vinnie but Jarrick Williams.
Really struggled at times this year.
he has barely been on the field in his career
