To START i live in K-town & im a long time tide fan.Over the last few years i have enjoyed the local sports talk radio stations with amazement & gut busting outbursts of laughter. I do not want to leave one morsel of vol humiliation unheard or unseen.I feel bad for sal because of the blame vol fans put on him & these are radio people who claim to be experts. They say with last years vol defense they would have lost only 3 games because the players are almost the same.So its sals bad coaching that is the culprit & not the players. Fact time =Sal has 2 sons playing div 1 football >one is a QB @ PITT THE OTHER IS A STARTER & GOT PLAYING TIME AS A FRESHMAN ON THE BEST DEFENSE IN THE NATION.So i think this means the man can coach.
Also means that man can breed.
I think Coach Saban paid Dooley and Sal to go to UT, and jack them up! Something tells me Miss Terry is serving up a fine steak dinner to to Nick, Derrick and Sal and all three laughing their arses off!
Can't lay it all on the feet of Sal. But that D was awful, the DC has to take a lot of the responsibilty for that.
TRADITION IS THE FOUNDATION GREAT PROGRAMS ARE BUILT UPON.
Of course he has to take responsibility, but you can not make chicken salad with chciken shit. He was left with crap to work with.
Don't feel sorry for him. He is guaranteed a large paycheck for three years.
The defense definitely had its problems, but I wonder how much of that was play calling / game planning related as opposed to the team quitting for the season in the second half of the Florida game.
Dooley trying to switch from the 4-3 to a 3-4 out of the blue knowing the next season his job was on the line was just another stupid decision in a long list of them for Dooley i dont blame Sal. It was worth a shot for him but that was doomed to failure from the start
I would love to have Sal back if there is an opening. I honestly felt he was a great position coach. Dont know anything about what he did at UT but I honestly felt he did a great job with us.
