feel like right now with Mal stepping down that would be my go-to to get a lot of good history and stories.
Unfortunately he will not be on in the Birmingham market until at least the end of April. I believe the 20th or 21st of April is the end of his 90 day no compete clause. You are right, he would be the go to!
Who cares? Sports talk radio version of Jerry Springer...and nobody would care if Jerry Springer left tv except the nut cases that appear on the show...
I have heard April 1st.
Jerry Springer has never interviewed A List celebritites. Finebaum's show features A list guests from the sports world. I just dont see how the two compare. If youre telling me that the guys on Jox now have good shows, then maybe I dont know good talk radio. The mid day guys from Texas are horrible and the roundtable has never been my cup of tea. I dont think there is one person on Jox whow could break a news story ahead of ESPN right now. They basically read ESPN, CNNSI and in the case of the roundtable, maxim magazine and report what they read.
Like him or not, Paul is a powerful voice in sports, who happens to discuss our football program with great regularity. Most of his remarks about the Tide & our acclaimed head coach are beyond respectful. The sum total effect of this reinforces our position at the very pinnacle of college football.
What you did there... I see it.
I probably would listen more to him if they took only a few calls. That ruins the whole show with the idiotic ranting and raving.
You mad bro?
I hate the show, his interview process, and the callers. The only time his show is good is when he shuts up and lets his guests talk. Other than that, the show paints a stereotypical picture of a the South. We look dumb and backwards.
I would be happy if he never came back. He is arrogant and poisonous.
I prefer to listen to callers. I dont listen to sports radio shows to hear expert opinions from talking heads. I think the people right here in this forum are as knowledgeable about sports as the top sports radio guys. I think the Finebaum show is a message board disguised as a radio show and he is the Moderator. Thats why his show produces more relevant information than any show on Jox.
The reason he dominates the competition is because unlike the Tim Brando's of the world, he doesnt think his opinion alone is enough to carry a 3 hour broadcast. Brando's show stinks because he just like to listen to himself talk. Thats true for most radio shows.
There's a clear void in sports talk radio now. Finebaum has a lot of haters but for someone who listens almost exclusively to sports talk on the radio, I'm missing his show. He would definitely be doing a good job remembering Mal Moore and crediting his legacy if he was on now.
I didn't mind the Finebaum show but have really enjoyed listening to the Round Table in the afternoons now. I can say that even when PF does come back on the other station, I will still stay tuned to the Round Table and doubt I will listen to PF.
The Dynasty is Here!
He always called Mal Moore a clown and a buffoon, and he always said he was a horrible AD - that we needed someone with business experience. That was until he found out Nick Saban liked Moore. That is when he changed his tune. Finebaum is just a jerk.
This. I'm hoping he moves to Tennessee and never comes back.

I think I speak for the most of us who live outside of the area and have to listen on XMRadio. I want him back. The crap they have on now is just down-right boring. I never listen to music in the car but have found that, since Finebaum left, the only time I don't is when Bill King is on in the morning. I, for one, hope he's back on XMRadio. The sooner the better.
Agree with above comments, without Finebaum there is definately a void in Birmingham with regards to sports talk radio. Don't care to much for the mid day guys on jox and am so sick of hearing about the dodge ram and steak bets in the afternoon! Just my opinion. TIFWIW
I don't mind sticking with the Ram Truck guys.
Do NOT miss his callers' voices one iota. So much better without him on the radio. He can sit home and write some articles now, instead...those tend to be pretty good.
STAY OFF THE AIR!

Trash on the table is exactly what you get from the roundtable.
1 hour of steak bets.
1 hours of ram truck.
1 hour of sports.
1 hour of cliche lines like "That's right in your wheelhouse..."
