will NC game sell out?, with ticket

  • Prices starting at $1300.00 to $3500.00 each and higher. In this economy, I just dont see how that many people can pay that amount. I did it in 09 and paid $800.00 a ticket, but this is just crazy. I can honestly say if I had tickets and could not go, I would sell them at face value to a Tide fan. Taking my kids in 09 was one of the best times of my life, but the economy has impacted my job and it stings not being able to go unless I sell my kidney. I really wish they would not sell these damn tickets in blocks to these ticket companies. That and scalping should be illegal. Yeah, I know all about a free market economy and capitalism, but how much is enough? The only people it hurts is true fans who cant afford these sky high prices. I would really like to see these ticket companies go out of business. But, its the way of the world, its all about $... nothing else matters. I dont mind people making some profit, but damn, are these prices not above and beyond? Sorry for the rant, it just pisses me off.

they'll come down, but it will sell out. The tickets have/will be already bought, as those numbers are for "ticket brokers" who are selling "purchased" tickets. There's no question it'll be a sell out. Now, do the BROKERS sell out of their allotments? Yes, but they'll test the waters and slowly bring down the prices to what the market will bear...They always start REALLY high (which makes sense) then adjust them downward.

Don't be too discouraged...they should definitely get better closer to the game. Just don't panic and be patient...

  • Auburn v. Oregon tickets were going for over 2500---4500 a the week of the game.(wifes family are aubs and her parents took her and her sister) That game was in Arizona which is not with in driving distance of with team and not in a location with a large allumni base for either school so fans were dropping an additional 1k for travel/hotel and meals.

The Sugar bowl is with in driving distance of over 1 million LSU fans who won't need a hotel and driving distance of 85% of all alabama fans, most will still need a hotel.

The market hasn't changed in the past 12 months and it may even be on the smallest of up tics. These tickets will be going for 3-5k a pair easy and unfortunately, I think more LSU fans will be paying this price since

    a) we played 2 years ago and a lot of us spent so much money on that game and won't be making a return trip. (all 4 people in my office that went out to L.A. including me are not going to pay that much again this year for the game.

    b) LSU fans can factor in no plane/hotel prices for the game while us bama fans will have to factor this into our budget.

I personally probably won't be able to afford a ticket, but I will take capitalism over going into a football game.

  • To the people that give the " market value" arguement, how bout gas. If gas went to 10 dollars a gallon would u still b singing that tune. Bottom line tide pride should have there allotment of half, as should lsu fan base. Sell them for 300 average and let it be. I don't see what's so hard about that.

  • At the Rose Bowl a couple of years ago the price in December was around $1,000 a ticket. At the game you could buy a ticket for $100. I do think the price will stay higher than that but will still fall a lot.
