Cowherd ripping Dre

  • Talking about all sorts of issues that he has... piece of work and so on. Says he jumps routes too much and always goes for the interception. He goes on to say that all college football people linked to Bama says the guy has issues.

  • I was hoping he would go to a team with some hard core football veterans on it. I'll leave it at that.

  • He was a top 20 pick. Good grief. Wouldn't you love to "have issues" and be considered one of the top 20 in the world in what you do, coming out of college? People need things to talk about, I guess.

These guys are dissected ad nauseum for not just months leading up to the draft, but for years - especially a kid like Dre at a program like this. And STILL a team was willing to "roll the dice" on him in the 1st round.

  • Que the Cowherd is a clueless idiot/ESPN hates Bama crowd.

    Jawa3hc

  • He did say he loved the Hightower pick to NE. He said that Belicheck only takes smart players and realized that Hightower was his type of player.

I concur. Hated seeing him go to Cincy. At least the former bad apples are out of there.

  • He didnt even mention the marijuana arrest which is what i thought he would talk about. He just talked him jumping routes and celebrating too much and knowing insiders that say he has issues. Why is he the only person i've heard say that? Is he just making it up?

    cue. sorry, had to.

  • I don't see the jumping routes thing. Kid may have issues but I wouldn't know about that. The jumping routes complaint is dead wrong though. I think these analysts are still trying to explain how Florida was able to get over the top of Dre. That had nothing to do with him trying to jump a route. That had to do with Dre occasionally being soft on bumping the receiver. If they want to find Dre's biggest weakness that would be it. Dre isn't a perfect football player but he is certainly good enough to have a long career in the NFL.

Gilmore is a guy who attempts to jump routes and gets burned.

I agree & IMO Dre really grew up on the football field in 2011. I don't know about off the field but Coach Saban normally doesn't play trouble makers or players that take risks that will cost you a football game. Dre is a much better player than Gilmore.

  • Dre K had maturity issues while at Alabama. Saban has mentioned it multiple times in pressers before. I think there is some concern with his ability to stay focused with the freedom and means he now has.

  • Cowherd just asked Mangini whe he liked Hightower. The first thing he said was "I like Hightower because he went to Alabama and played for Nick Saban." I love all the free advertisement.

I hope recruits pay attention to this.

Incorrect. A queue is a line of people. Cue is correct.

  • If Dre jumps routes to go for the interception, why didnt he have more than 3 int. in his career. Im sure he has some weaknesses but jumping routes is not one of them.

Completely correct. Jumping on routes is just wrong.

I think Dre is a great CB and if he keeps his head, he can have an elite career in the NFL. That said, the reason Dre got burned a few times last year was because he jumped the route. He didn't get out ran, he jumped the route. This year, I can only think of the UF game where that happened. Last, sometimes he was probably supposed to jump the route with a Safety over the top so it may have been the Safety or another CB's fault.

My problem w/ the ESPN analysis last night was this: They were saying that he's a very physical CB that can lay the wood, but then talked about how he was too skinny and wondered if he could hold up in the NFL. Does that make sense to anyone else?

Whats REALLY interesting is that now that the picks have been done alot of people are coming out of the wood work with negative analysis on Claiborne. Analysis that I had never heard before he got picked.

No, it isn't. A queue is a line of people, more of a British term (i.e. "I had to stand in the queue to buy football tickets.") A cue is a signal to prompt the next event in a performance...hence, "cue the Cowherd is an idiot crowd".

Que is "what" in Spanish...not a word in English.

    Cue is the correct word.
