  • Dre was one of the more emotional guys on the team.

No, it isn't. A queue is a line of people, more of a British term (i.e. "I had to stand in the queue to buy football tickets.") A cue is a signal to prompt the next event in a performance...hence, "cue the Cowherd is an idiot crowd".

Que is "what" in Spanish...not a word in English.

    Cue is the correct word.

Cue is the good stuff you get to eat at Archibald's...
Que is half of a mean spirited term for gay people...
Queue is a term that is way too fancy for this board...

SO you're all wrong. Back to football please...

I think Dre is a great CB and if he keeps his head, he can have an elite career in the NFL. That said, the reason Dre got burned a few times last year was because he jumped the route. He didn't get out ran, he jumped the route. This year, I can only think of the UF game where that happened. Last, sometimes he was probably supposed to jump the route with a Safety over the top so it may have been the Safety or another CB's fault.

My problem w/ the ESPN analysis last night was this: They were saying that he's a very physical CB that can lay the wood, but then talked about how he was too skinny and wondered if he could hold up in the NFL. Does that make sense to anyone else?

Whats REALLY interesting is that now that the picks have been done alot of people are coming out of the wood work with negative analysis on Claiborne. Analysis that I had never heard before he got picked.

Are you calling last year 2010 and this year 2011 because otherwise I don't quite understand your post?

He was a very solid consistent corner. Any talk about "being only potential" or "always going for the home run" is all media driven nonsense remembering him as a true freshman. Nobody really tested him in the last eight games of the season, and the UF play wasn't even a horrible event from a prospect standpoint. A guy with 4.4 speed got a step on him in single coverage and took very nice pass to make the play. Yea he needed to jam better if you are playing at the line but that's not a huge deal and certainly wasn't a consistent mistake.

    Wrong again.

    It's just plain "Q."

I'm not a Claiborne fan & thought he was over rated. He is a good player but far from PP who was the top CB last year.

Talking about all sorts of issues that he has... piece of work and so on. Says he jumps routes too much and always goes for the interception. He goes on to say that all college football people linked to Bama says the guy has issues.

Cowherd would trash his own mother to generate comment and draw people to his program. Humility and Colin are not acquainted, and "fair and balanced journalism" is not a concept he understands. If you make the decison to listen to him understand his goal is to piss you off. As far as Dre is concerned, his athleticism allows him to do things other guys can't do - result is he's in the first round and will make more money this year than Colin has made in the last 10.

Cowherd praises Nick Saban and the Alabama program every chance he gets. Does that hurt your "fair and balanced journalism" argument? He's not a journalist. He's a talk show host. He gets paid to comment and entertain, not report news.

And unless Dre makes over $20mil this year, which he won't, he won't be making more than Cowherd made in the last ten years.

  • honestly. I do think that Dre needs more work.

However, having said that, he was coming off of only one year of strength and conditioning due to injuries, and he still made QBs refuse to throw to his side. He is very much RAW. I will give any commentator that. But if one of them says he is a weak choice at corner....booom....they are fooling. He is at about half of his potential....and his stock at this moment is something I would buy buy buy. It's all in his hips....

Colin makes $2 million per year, quite likely less than a 1st round pick in the draft (In the 2010 draft the first 20 picks were each guaranteed more than $2 million per year, excluding signing bonuses, etc.). You were right about one thing - he's an entertainer, not a journalist, although I'm not sure he understands that. You like him - that's fine. I don't.

    Cue is the correct word.

As long as we're going full Nazi, "que" is a preposition roughly equivalent to "that" or "which" in English. "What" is spelled "qué".

To the guy directly above me, I suggest you reread. One year and ten years are different things.
