Hearing some good things about the performance of Cyrus Jones in the recent weeks, including an impressive one handed touchdown grab in a recent 7 on 7. This group of Freshman wide receivers continue to impress heading into fall camp and Jones will be another to keep an eye on when the Crimson Tide put the pads in August.

I was really impressed with Cyrus in the Under Armor Game. That kid is a baller. He's going to be a stud for Bama.

Cyrus has impressed all summer, but has really started to make some strides in the recent weeks. He is a playmaker and it will be interesting to see how things shake out when camp starts.

Can someone go into more detail on exactly what these guys are doimg during summer workouts. I know it's player driven and no coaches are there, but are the veterans taking the play book and running specific plays and already learning formations? Just interested if and GA's can supervise or if it's only the players and Scott Cochrin during the summer

It is player led. The Offensive lineman break off with the defensive line and work on pass protection/pass rush, while the skill players run 7 on 7. Usually, the Veterans get together and create a script for the 7 on 7.

I was hoping he'd end up at CB due to the depth at both positions but I don't care where he plays, just glad we got him! Last class had a lot of guys that could start on O or D as true freshmen for a lot of schools. Can't wait to see how it all plays out for us

Good to hear but if I know anything about Saban I know a one handed TD grab in 7on7 doesn't move his meter. It's consistency in performance in all aspects over the course of time especially once the pads are strapped on in August. Good to hear nonetheless RTR.

One-handers by Cyrus in 7 on 7 are expected by Saban, who's meter was moved enough to offer him a scholarship, in the first place - obviously. I look forward to seeing him contribute, whenever he can get into the game WR rotation.

I am suspecting the nation will know about our WR Corps in great detail by the end of September. With AJ throwing, and talent like Black, Shinn, Jones, etc., we will have some amazing plays. I think our offense is set to explode. I dare say we probably have the deepest, though most untested, WR Corps in the country...
