Alabama signee Dalvin Tomlinson will have surgery after "significant" knee injury

McDONOUGH, Georgia -- Alabama football signee Dalvin Tomlinson will have surgery on his knee after a he said. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a source within Alabama's football program confirmed the injury and reiterated that it does not change anything with Tomlinson coming to the University of Alabama. Tomlinson won his third consecutive Georgia Class AAA state wrestling championship with a 9-second pin of his opponent in the championship bout in February.

Makes no sense why a kid would be playing soccer, should be in the weight room trying to get ready to enroll and a chance to compete

I would have to ask who is advising this kid. No one who is 270 needs to be playing soccer or basketball. Kid should have been getting ready for fall. Whoever didnt see this coming at his size and strength is an idiot. Too bad it will be at least a year or more till he gets meaningful playing time. Whether he will be healed enough to work out at that time makes no difference to whether he is conditioned or whether he will mentally trust the knee or whether he is strong or competitive enough to get meaningful snaps.
It's a shame for sure.

Yeah, let's not allow these kids to have any fun. Soccer actually requires great dexterity and coordination and this was probably something that was helping him get in shape. However, y'all make it seem like right when these kids sign on the dotted line, they should not be allowed to do anything non-Alabama football related. DT was only trying to have a little fun; he could have been doing a lot worse things than playing soccer. Cut him some slack

A surgeon stabbing a steak knife between his fingers real fast might be fun but it's not smart fun
