    Kansas City.

Don't say Jamaal Charles or we'll fight. That guy's on my fantasy team...he wouldn't dominate Bama.

Give me some time to research.

    Just stating the facts

but they arent facts if you give nothing to support them.

you picked our worst game of the season lol.

I have to imagine an NFL team would beat WKU by more than 35. Or Mizzou by more than 32. Or UT by more than 31.

Obviously we pulled off the gas pedal in those games, but the point stands. An NFL team would absolutely bludgeon those teams by 70+ points and wouldn't be scored upon in the process.

Ok...my three on O are Bowe, Baldwin, McCluster. I think Bama's D might hold their own against KC against the run early so I'm going with a lot of 3,4, and even 5 wide sets. I'm going 5 wide, Bama manages to get in their Dime. Cover the three I mention with Bowe and Baldwin split wide to the same side of the field and McCluster motioning across away from those two. Don't forget there are two other NFL caliber receiver to cover.

You can't use blowouts for comparative analysis.

If we beat 3-4 teams by a few points, sure. But you have no idea what kind of scheming, trying out, or testing we're doing in terms of play calling and personnel with a 4 TD lead.

Thats not true. Opinions need support from facts, while facts don't need support from opinions. It is a fact that NFL rosters are better than college rosters, not an opinion. And let's just say Bama loses to LSU this Saturday.. Does that mean LSU can beat NFL teams too?

how can something be a fact when it cannot be tested? you will never see a college team play an NFL team in modern football. so really youre stating an opinion and arent backing it up with supporting argument.

Just gonna blow off that LSU question huh?

I always hate those arguments.. NFL teams are full of NFL talent and Draft picks.. Only a certain few of our players will get drafted through the years. Any NFL team would wipe the deck with the best team in the nation every year. Now if you put all the best players from the nation on 1 team that would be a different story.

    Not necessarily.

You're not taking into account team chemistry, motivation, mental toughness, etc.

my bad lol. maybe they could. I was never one to be on this side of the argument in the past, but until the past year or so, ive never seen a college team operate the way CNS has Alabama operating. This is far and away the most talented bama team ive ever seen. Like i said, i dont think we compete with the best in the NFL, but given that the best in the NFL can play crappy and get beat by the worst in the NFL, it stands to reason that if the best in college played great against the worst in the NFL playing bad then we could stand a chance of winning.

I get the logic behind it, I used to think the USC teams under Carroll could beat NFL teams. I have since changed my mind because I just think the gap is too big between grown men of the NFL and boys in college. Agree to disagree, I just want Saturday to get here! RTR

The fact of the matter is, we would not beat an NFL team and most NFL teams would beat most of the teams we've played significantly worse than we beat them.

Only a blind sunshine pumper would think otherwise.

You can use the "you don't know what tricks we left in the bag against them" argument, but I've been at every game this year except two. OM drove the ball on us at times. MSU drove the ball 103 yards on us in one drive. WKU drove the ball on us at times but turned the ball over. And each of those teams had stretches where they slowed our offense down in the first half of them game before we were completely in the shed.

Not to go back and forth, but I'd wager that WKY, UT, MSU, OM, FAU, etc. would not be able to stop an NFL offense on a single drive and would not gain more than one first down on a single drive (if any at all) against an NFL defense. That's the type of absolute annihilation that would happen.

Not even close. The lines would be Jacksonville -24 and Cleveland -24 according to RJ Bell.

totally agree. The major dominance in the NFL is the OL/DL. WR/CB are next. Lets not forget that most all NFL QB's could easily make ALL the throws against ANY college defensive backfield. Yes, even Bama's. Best of the Best on the line against a college team with virtually no chance to complete a pass on intermediate routes?? Games wouldn't be close, nor would the lines in Vegas. Anyone who believes otherwise has NEVER been to an NFL game before. I've been and its EXTREMELY noticeable how good and athletic the OL's are.

  • How many players do we have on the team that are ready to step in and play on an NFL team right now? Not necessarily start, but make the game day roster. I bet we can come up with 20-30 names. What if we restrict it to guys that could start right now - then it's much fewer, Warmack and Milliner for sure, probably Jesse Williams, Barrett Jones, maybe Fluker at guard, possibly Lacy. Mosley would be undersized but maybe him, maybe Lester. Nico? Square? Michael Williams? It seems absurd to mention a freshman, but if it was one game, not a whole grind of a season, you could get some production out of Yeldon I bet. The point is, I'm struggling to come up with 10 NFL starters for either side of the ball, and barely enough to fill out a starting lineup just with players who I think could make the top 46 or whatever it is on a pro team today, even if they were 2nd or 3rd string guys. And I don't care if the worst NFL teams have some sub-par talent on their squads, almost every single one of them would start for us today. So it seems to me this is fun daydreaming material, but I don't think we'd have much of a chance against a pro team.
