Dee Hart and Kenyan Drake

  • I was watching the replays of our games against Ole Miss and Arkansas this morning and it reminded me of how talented Dee Hart and Kenyan Drake really are. All the talk lately has been about our amazing haul of high school RB's but we already have some serious talent on hand. I really hope Hart can come back 100% from his knee injury because he is a special talent. And Drake is gonna be special as well. He would start for most SEC schools but he kinda gets lost in the shuffle here because of all the talent we have. I look for him to have a good year as the 2nd or 3rd back.

  • I really hope Dee can bounce back, he is someone who really wants to be a big part of this team. Drake was very impressive last year in mop up duty. In my opinion, the biggest thing that kept him off the field was the success of Lacy and Yeldon and comfort level the staff had with them. It's also not all about running and catching the ball either. A big part is pass protection. I saw Dee sacrifice himself on one play to keep a defender off McCarron. That's the kind of effort I believe the coaches look for from every player.

  • Top to bottom this group of running backs is going to be one of the deepest and most talented groups on the team. Going to be very interesting to see how the carries work out this fall.

Deepest and most talented group ever Trevor? I think this group has at least 5 guys who will play in the league and could have up to 8.

  • Count me in the group that thinks Drake will be a really good one. I am rooting for Dee, but after two injuries to the knees I will be glad if he can simply become our featured kick/punt returner.

Ditto really hope Dee can come back and contribute. His enthusiasm on special teams and in spot duty was impressive last year. Kid is a team first player.

  • Drake is talented. He just needs to hang onto the ball and not fumble. If he can do that and get bigger in the weight program he will be a factor next year. This spring will be big for him with Henry enrolled. I hope Hart comes back and does well. Two ACL injuries in two years is tough. He was really showing promise before he got hurt in the Ole Miss game last year.

  • I thought Drake looked very good on his rushes in 2012. I must admit I was surprised that he didn't get more reps as the season wore on, especially the fourth quarter of the *U game & the NCG. But hey, what do I know. It would be great for him to firmly grasp a spot in the rotation for 2013. Come on Kenyan we all know you have the tools, we've seem them in play.......... If Hart will trust his knees, his speed will be something Bama hasn't seen at RB since #37 Shaun. Don't get me wrong at all, Bama's RB's have had all the speed they have needed but Dee is that really true break away stuff. He wasn't a 5 star for nothing. I hope he can get back to his game.

  • Dee is by far our best punt returner. Just hope he is back mentally. You gotta think he is snake bitten and probably thinks he's gonna get hurt again

  • From what I've heard, Dee Hart will take a medical scholarship and not play football anymore. Who knows for sure just yet, but I'm sure it could happen.

I had heard rumors that he may not be ready this year but hadn't heard that he might have to give up football entirely. I saw his injury happen against Ole Miss and observed him on the sidelines afterwards and it didn't seem like the catastrophic type injury (a-la Marcus Lattimore) that a surgery and rehab wouldn't fix right up.

I doubt this is true. ACL injuries are not career ending, even if it happens twice to the same knee.

Not true. His high school FB coach (Rodney Wells) keeps in touch with him. Rodney informed me that Dee is progressing quite well, has a great attitude and is looking forward to having a big year!

MH4Bama, many thanks for the update on Dee Hart and, in particular, the insight from his high school coach. I saw him briefly in the hotel in Miami a couple of days before the BCS NCG. He had a smile on his face and spoke positively. Few things would please me more than to see Dee Hart healthy and playing like I know he is capable. He is a terrific talent and seems like a nice young man. I hope he has the opportunity to achieve his dreams.

  • Let's not forget about Jalston Fowler! When healthy, he gives our offense even more options and explosive plays! The talent available is just stupid. panic Great times! Roll Tide!

True or not the FR numbers someone posted (If they are true) had Robert Foster as #1.

Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

Good stuff. I hope things work out for Dee and he makes it back. He's a very good player.
