Belue and Geno Smith better be ready next year...the front seven will be fine. The safeties will be fine. The corners have me worried, but we'll be nasty on defense, regardless.

great article travis thanks. I really feel Pagan is going to do something special this year, you always knew he was on the field simply because he seemed to tower over everyone else. The kid is massive! can't wait to see what he can do as a starter.
Wasn't he used primarily in the "rabbit" pass rush situations?

Hope Belue gets his stuff together.. was picked on a lot last year.. Need him to lead this year.

Think Ha-Ha is headed to another level, the loss of Williams presumably puts pressure on the Tide to find depth. However, I'm not sure he was even penciled in to the rotation. The last time I spoke with those close to the program he was being moved to wide receiver. That was mid season, but it still tells somewhat of a story regarding his development. Fortunately, safety is a position that Alabama has some solid depth, plus by all accounts Stewart has the physical gifts and mental makeup to be major talent.

That was going to be the on-going question with Williams: other than specials, where can you get him on the field? Doesn't have stretch-the-field speed at WR and not sure he would have been trusted enough to play safety.

Oh lord don't say that!!...you get crucified around here if you say anything negative about Belue. I agree he will need to be MUCH better this year or our secondary will get torched. I think Geno will have passed him ability wise by the time fall gets here.

For a juco transfer, I thought Belue was pretty good last season. With Milliner on the other side, you knew teams (other than Michigan and Notre Dame, anyway) would go after Belue a good bit and I thought he held up well. He needs to get a little bigger and stronger but I think he'll be very good in coverage in 2013.

Lets not forget about the other Williams when talking about safety depth. Jarrick has looked good in his UA career to date, and should be 100% heading into the spring.
