Does the wake up call against LSU help us going into A&M?

  • Or are these two teams so completely different that we don't really take much from the LSU game into A&M week?

  • My hope is that we take what we learned last night and apply it to all of our opponents. Coach preaches about playing for 60 minutes and the team learned last night what that means and why it's important.

Well said. I think last night will serve as a reality check.

  • I think if nothing else, our defense will play with a chip on its shoulder after giving up over 400 yds.

  • Don't expect anything but a dogfight next week. Won't be surprised if they jump on us early and take a 2 touchdown lead on us. They are explosive and run the Ole Miss fast paced offense. I hope we settle in and wear em out. This game and Ole Miss will prepare for eventual Oregon game (if they are the chosen). A&M offense is for real though and we will be certain to have a let down after last night. Just need to suck it up and play ball control and wear them out.

Reality check? I don't think so, nobody thought going into Death Valley and getting the win was going to be easy. I know a lot of fans thought it would be a cake walk but i guarantee the team didn't.

I don't think it will be a dog fight next week because A&M doesn't have the personnel to match up with us. Their defense is horrible. Just awful. Additionally, name the last qb or offense like A&M's that had real success against Alabama. Even Cam Newton struggled against us.

Bottom line, LSU and Florida shut them down by forcing Johnny Football to be a passer. He struggles when you force him to sit in the pocket and pass the ball. Expect the same thing we did to neutralize Denard Robinson. I don't think this game will be that close. Saban/Smart do very well against gimmick offenses.

  • Manziel has no idea what the pocket is. If he doesn't see a receiver open within 1.5 seconds, he starts running for his life, even if there's no pressure. At that point, he'll try to run it (dangerous, and I mean physically) or Favre it, making the highlight reel one way or the other.

He'll probably settle down at some point and become a very good player for A&M but for the moment he's one play away from a hospital bed. If you want to beat us, you need to do better than a reckless freshman.

It's best not to spend too much time sweating the intangible aspects of the game. I see teams that should be "looking ahead" or "hung over" come out guns ablaze just as much as I see them come out flat, and the inverse applies as well.

  • IMO, they're not gimmicky. They have 2 OT's that are legit high round (possibly 1st round) NFL talents. Johnny football is good because of his line, not in spite of them. Tebow and Newton gave us trouble. I'm not convinced that their defense is up to SEC elite standards, but they are improving.

Zone D and mush rush is the way to beat them. It definitely won't be easy though.

  • No doubt in my mind this team will be ready Saturday. A lot of things to work on but these young men have bought into the process & will respond to last night by bringing a complete game & reminding the Nation why Bama is on top! RTR
