I agree with you, to a point. When we signed Dre and Trent in 09, we needed them more than they needed us. Wwe had put together a stellar class the year before, but had no depth behind it. Now, not so much. We brought in several damn good linebackers last year so we don't need RF necessarily. Don't get me wrong, its going to suck watching him turn into an All American at AU, but I definitely agree with the OP and I'm very glad to be rid of the drama. I also think there's still a strong possibility that he still signs with us in Feb. Now let AU and their fans worry about what he's going to do. Let them worry about him flipping to UGA with his boy Trigga Tray. I honestly don't see Tray flipping from UGA to AU, but I could definitely see RF flipping from AU to UGA.
We're as deep and probably deeper than any program in the country, especially at linebacker. I can't blame a kid for choosing to go where he'll be the best player on the team from the day he steps on campus. Here, he wouldn't even be the best at his position (yet). I do hate that it went down like it did with the ceremony and the TJY statement situation, but I wish him well, except when he plays us.
Good luck to AU in holding on to him, because he clearly doesn't know what he wants yet and will continue to be torn between where he thinks he should go, where his family thinks he should go, and where his friends think he should go. He's their problem now, not ours. We've got a handful of quality prospects to take his spot, and if Thomas or Walker commits, they could have just as high of a ceiling as RF with the way our staff will develop their talent.

No it sucks. RF is a stud prospect and RN is one of the best prospects I have seen. There was drama with Trent Richardson, Dre Kirkpatrick and a ton of great players for UA. I would rather go through the drama and actually sign them.

Now that RN and RF have made their decisions to make their careers a little more difficult, we can concentrate on the players that can't wait to wear crimson and compete for championships during their college careers. I actually feel like we got a pretty good deal out of this. While Auburn gained a LB with a torn hammy, who was influenced to join their team by a prospect that has been arrested twice this month, Bama now has one more spot, or "opportunity" as Coach Saban says, for a young man to come in and be a part of greatness. Reuben's a great player, but while he is running around trying to do everything for that poor defense, we will be putting on a show and making their a$$ quit. Cheer up everybody, this is ALA-BAMA football we are talking about! ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.........

The point was not that we need freak out as some interpretted it saying silly things like "relax". The point was actually quite the opposite. We shouldn't worry about this, we sign the best class in the country every year. However, we shouldnt let our emotional insecurity run wild where we tell ourselves it's a happy thing to miss on top prospects to be done with the drama. First thats all bullshit and eveybody on here knows it and Second we have to take less personally where we can be upset about losing top prospects without freaking or pretending it's a good thing.
Actually like it's a good thing to be done with the drama is just stupid and I promise you the staff doesn't see it that way.

I normally agree with you, but what you've said in this thread is just silly too. Especially comparing the recruitment of Trent and Dre to the fiasco of RN and RF. While Saban will continue recruiting Reuben, I doubt he or the staff are overly concerned about what happened other than their disdain for AU increasing for using the poor kid.

Doesn't it feel good to be done with the drama?
