  • Aubrey,

Is the general consensus that you guys are bringing a large crowd to Tuscaloosa this weekend for the game? Excited for you guys to experience Tuscaloosa for the first time.

  • Alright Tide fans, I'm here and ready to go. Glad to be here on BamaOnline, and excited to be making this trip. I'll be leaving College Station later today and will arrive in TTown tomorrow if I survive the night in Shreveport. Fire away fellas. I know there are a lot of you so it might take me a minute to get to all of the questions, but I'll get to all of them eventually.

A fairly sizable crowd is coming from what it sounds like. This is a game a lot of fans circled on the calendar when the schedule came out to make the trip.

  • Aubrey,

Can you give us an update on injuries for A&M? I think I saw Evans go out of the game last weekend.

  • This may be an overly simplistic question, but how do you think Johnny Football will fair against Bama's complex defense and coverages? Seems like a lot to ask of a freshman. Your take?

  • In your opinion, will A&M's defense be able to stop Bama's running game with enough success to provide pass coverage where it's needed?

Well, it's a complicated answer because I think the key to slowing down Manziel is going to be Alabama just keeping it simple. Man up across the field, contain on the edge, and force Manziel into the middle of the field. The one thing Manziel hasn't done this year is be able to beat an elite defense on deep passes, and I think that's what Alabama is going to test.

  • what do you think is the reason A&M seems to be a different team in the first and second half in several games?

No. Quite frankly I don't think A&M's secondary is good enough to stop Alabama if they take to the air unless McCarron has an off night or they really have a good night rushing the passer. That's why I think A&M's pass rush is the biggest key to this game. If Alabama neutralizes that, then A&M's defense is going to be in major trouble.

Haha, yes they do. I also hear that the seniors of the A&M band will be there. This will be the first in A&M's history that they've done this I think. Usually it's "all or nothing" with the A&M band.

  • Have an Aggie buddy who said next year you will be playing games at Reliant Stadium while Kyle Field goes through expansion. Is this true?

  • Aubrey,

If you see any weakness in Manzel's game what is it? Also how could you see Alabama exploiting this?

    Thanks!

  • Well, that's another seemingly easy question that has a complicated answer. Against elite teams like Florida or LSU it's not that they're bad in the second half, it's just that they're that good to start. A&M is a really hard team to prepare for because of the speed they run their offense at, but an elite defense like LSU was able to adjust to the speed and got it figured out.

Against Louisiana Tech the problem was the A&M's defense just got tired. A&M's offense actually worked against them some in that game because they were scoring so fast in the first half that the A&M defense was exhausted by the third quarter and then Tech started bombing them.

  • I know all about the OT on both sides are really good, but how is the interior of the line? Do you see the matchup of Williams against the Center a good one for A&M or a bad one?

Haha, never did. I actually talked to him when he was here in College Station a few weeks ago. If I were him, with the information he had, I probably would have done the same thing.

Well, it's possible. It will actually be the 2014 season that A&M is looking at right now at renovating Kyle Field, not next year, but right now it's possible that they'll have to play a season away. However, knowing what that would do to the local economy, I think that ultimately they're going to choose to renovate the stadium in stages so that they don't lose home games.
