  • Does A&M run a lot of WR screens?

I know they run a no-huddle offense but do they go high tempo right from the start? Or do they wait until they get a 1st down before going high tempo offense?

  • Hey Aubrey,

I can eat at one place in College Station next year, where am I going?

  • Aubrey, Thanks alot for taking our questions. I really look forward to this game and the start of a new rivalry. A few years ago I said that I hoped if we ever played A&M, we would pay them back for getting Fran. In hindsight, that debt has been settled.rolltideroll

The tempo doesn't really take effect until they get a big gain or a first down, there's really not point in sprinting around if the line of scrimmage hasn't changed, so you're right there.

As for WR screens, they will depending on the defensive look at the line. Their receivers are pretty good blockers so they'll throw a few different wrinkles in on how to get the ball to wide receivers in space. They're definitely going to make sure that Alabama can tackle in the open field.

  • When the pocket collapses what does Manziel do first? Does he pull the ball down and scramble, or does he move around the pocket and keeps his eyes downfield then scramble as a last resort?

Oh man... that's tough. If you're drinking it almost has to be the Dixie Chicken just because it's the landmark even though I haven't eaten there in probably about four years. The food is good but nothing special.

If you're just eating though I'd probably say Fuego, it's a taco place with some really crazy tacos, or if you're in the burger mood it would be Koppe Bridge with a side of the jalapeno fries.

Haha yeah, I think A&M fans are upset that they sent the Bear and Stallings to 'Bama and have only gotten Fran in return.

Alright guys, now that I got the tough question out of the way we'll let Aubrey get back to gigem247. Thanks again, Aubrey, and safe travels!

  • Aubrey,

What is Manziel's cell phone number? I had it, I just lost it and can't remember it. I mean....it's cool....he's totally cool with me having it.

Earlier in the year he'd drop his eyes, but he's done a better job lately of throwing on the run. He's deadly when he's moving to his right. He was actually really good at baseball growing up and you can see some of that in his game, he'll release the ball from all kinds of different positions. He'll try to throw it, but if he doesn't have somebody open he certainly doesn't mind taking off.

ESPN Stats did a breakdown of how many of Manziel's yards come on scrambles vs actual run plays, and about 2/3rds of them come on scrambles on designed pass plays.

If you'd have asked me in early October I'd say yes, but A&M effectively had a bye week against Auburn and they didn't really play the starters for most of the second half last week either. So they should be well rested.

Haha, it's been good guys. Looking forward to this one and maybe I'll see some of you guys out and around town on Friday Night. Everybody travel safe and we'll see you in Tuscaloosa.
