My all time favorite may not have been a brain-fart, but it was nevertheless memorable. It was that 2009 LSU-Ole Miss game, I believe, where LSU lost late due to poor clock management. During the last 20 seconds of the game, Vern keeps screaming, "What ARE THEY DOING?!? WHAT are THEY doing?!?" , over and over. Classic.

I really think Verne was an LSU homer that game.

'09 sec championship game, I believe it was the 3rd quarter, we got the ball on the 10 or 15 about to score, GMac avoids a hurry runs up the middle, spins and when we all thought he was down at the 7 or so yard line he makes it to the 2 or 3. Verne says "What the HELL.....stops....What the heck" after catching himself. What an idiot.

Verne makes many mistakes when announcing football games which leads me to believe there is too much going on for him with football. He is actually very good on golf and basketball coverage.

Even with his mistakes, I still like having him call games at 2:30.
