It's to bad they did not charge $5.00 a person and donate to the Tornado Relieve fund? They could have raised almost $400,000 in one day.

No doubt we had the most of any team, and the "duty to be there" vs. the "it's just practice (insert Iverson reference here)" argument has been beaten to death throughout a million threads on here...but I was there and I'm just going to say it--I hope it wasn't one of the UA math professors that came up with 78K being the actual number....if it was truly 78K then they were counting mosquitos, viruses and ghosts as among those in attendance...

No where NEAR 78,000 people in attendance. Another fact that has been beaten to death and posted over and over again. I have no doubt that we had more than any other SEC team, because that's not hard to do. When you're selling the fact that our fans are the craziest and most passionate in the country because we pack out our spring games, and then 3/4 of the upperdecks ended up being basically completely empty, there's a bit of a problem IMO.
Maybe that's Coach Saban's fault for pumping it so much to recruits, but you can't deny that after BOTH championship years, we've seen a significant drop in attendance.

ok so if its "not hard for us to dominate other fan bases", doesn't that say something rather flattering about our fan base? must say we are pretty damn good if we can CASUALLY have 78k (argue the exact number all day) people show up for a spring scrimmage.
pull any video from other schools' spring games and the atmospheres that they have and then find me one recruit that wasn't impressed by our showing comparative to other schools.
