First and Goal at the Aggie 7 yard line......

  • I can not comprehend why we didn't run the ball right at them. Even if it takes 4 plays.......we didn't play Alabama football today. Very dissappointed but we will bounce back! This one will hurt for awhile....and it should. RTR!!

  • Run the ball 4 times, I agree. We will bounce back.

  • Wow, I'm glad someone finally made a post about this!

  • OK lets just play it every way. We did run on second down and barely gained 2 yards. We also have seen in back to back weeks huge fumbles from running plays that obviously hurt. No, Lacy had not put it on the ground but none of us know for sure what his condition was late in the game. Maybe, there were things going on or a lack of trust that we will never hear about? I don't know. The easy thing to say now - since we lost is why didn't we do this. The truth, if we complete the pass on either 3rd down or 4th - we don't say a word about running. shrug

Saying that - I wished we lined up and tried too. But I also realize there may have been reasons???I don't know about.

  • Though yeldons fumble sucked our backs still averaged 5.8 and 2.9 ypc. I like our odds of 4 runs from the 6. Disgusted with the way we lost. Playing our worst we should still win these games. These last 2 games shows you something about the teams heart. Need some coaches to believe in them and get the job done. 3 more games to get it right and hope for some help. What a way to waste the win last week. The way we play d depends on us to control the clock with long drives. The last 2 weeks has shown our weakness on d. Not enough depth when we don't control clock.

  • My only problem is we seem to be getting away from who we are. Defense and pound you into submission with our running game. I don't want to be a Tennessee passing team. I love our team and realize you need to pass some. I just don't want to forget who we are.

Exactly my point.....we run the ball on 4 plays and gain two yards each play we score....I am not looking back at this.....I was saying it from first down.....we got this 4 runs up the middle and we got this!! Good thing is I understand why we lost.....just hard to swallow at this point. But I will move on to the games ahead and hope it turns out last year! RTR!

We dont know how Lacy was... remember he took a serious shot to the head, and I was surprised to see him in there. Of course Yeldon has fumbled in the 4th in key situations in back2back games, so after the rush for a yard on 2nd down bringing the ball to the 5, we were in a tough spot...

I dont understand why so many people are pissed about putting the game in AJ's hands. You say we need coaches that believe in our players, that's exactly what I saw from the playcalling down the stretch. AJ was hot and he was coming off that unbelievably clutch 4th quarter drive last week. I may personally disagree with the 1st and 4th down calls, but if they work, then we are all stoked right now....

I'm not really arguing with you but again, no guarantee we make 2 yards every run. We would like to think so but crazy things happen when you shorten the field inside the 10's? The bottom line is when you get down 20-0 and you lose the turnover battle 3-0 - your not suppose to win. And yet, we still through everything we can now second guess almost did.

I think the only thing we can say for sure is - since we didn't run everytime....that's saying something to us? LOL we just won't ever know what it is.

  • I agree he was playing well at the time and those 2 long passes were great. However they were underthrown costing us tds. He just needs to start out better. Been way off on third down. As for the final series, I'd rather run it 4 times and at minimum give Texas am the ball on the goal line IF we don't score. Much better situation for the d. I see the pass play on 4th obviously as a good play if we score, but it is a dangerous throw in that situation...kind of a high risk high reward imo. That int was close to a pick 6. It's easy as a fan to see the mistakes however it did cost us...along with other problems such as the first quarter fiasco. Rtr. Need to pound aub now...that will help ease the pain a lil.
