Former BBall Committ Sina to Northwestern

Former PG committ Jaren Sina has now officially committed to Northwestern. He was committed to Alabama for a long time in his sophmore season, and had been to Alabama Camps. He had originally decommitted but was still considering the Tide.

True! But the kid was a baller as a sophmore and was a great pick and roll PG with deep deep range! Sad we couldn't hold onto him.

I feel good about our chances with Barber and if he commits then the Sina decommitment worked well in our favor. Sina is a nice, solid prospect. Barber is elite.

Barber is elite, but his recruitment is taking off. Louisville is in hot pursuit as well now along with Kansas. Don't be surprised if several other teams also make a big push here. Hopefully we can get him though!

Sina is the first Top 100 player to join NW in almost a decade. I hope Sina leads NW to their first NCAA tourney bid in their history. I believe, NW is the only BCS conference hoops team to have never made the NCAA tourney. They have been a bubble team a few times, including the past two years, but have never made it to the NCAA yet. This is quite a challenge for Sina, but "you shop, we shop," and hopefully, CAG can land Cat Barber who is now a top 10 player and the 3rd rated PG in the 2013 class. Thus, Barber > Sina. RTR!!!

You never really know, but I wonder how much family considerations played into his decommittment and signing with Northwestern. For the family of a kid from New Jersey, coming to Tuscaloosa is probably like moving to another country.
