I agree to a certain degree with what you are saying but Florida has recruited elite talent year after year. The difference to me is in the development of talent that CNS and our staff provide. We recruit elite talent and then we make them even better. I believe it truly is what sets us apart from everyone else.

Exactly! I thing Muschamp is wrong in saying there's a lack of talent. They have plenty of talent! But there's a change in scheme from spread to a power offense and defense, which is contributing to some of their yearly records. Plus some guys are not going to buy into Muschamp's scheme and go for themselves thus leaving some of their team mates out to dry. By next season (2013) they should be making a little bit more noise.

They had a five star QB, multiple OL, and WRs. They have five stars at LB and at DB. Their defensive line is Dominique Easley, Ronald Powell, Sharif Floyd, and Omar Hunter. Now recruiting rankings are an inexact science but I don't buy for a second that they didn't have enough talent.

Urban Meyer was a lot about smoke-and-mirrors and panache in the HC. All of that was nothing that would last in the
rough-and-tumble SEC. He came to coach Tebow, did that, and then quit. It remains to be seen how he does at tOSU,
but I doubt he has the success he had at Florida......Time will tell.Aight36411

Well he is basically saying their talent the last two years in the Jr/Sr classes has not been good which is closely related to their record on the field the last two years. I'd agree to a point. Other significant factors like Urban losing control of the program and a mass overhaul of system on the offensive side also contributed heavily to the record.
It's one thing to have talent but it has to be developed too. They can't develop it all in year one. Let's not forget Saban went 7-6 year one and we know Muschamp is no Saban. Granted Florida had more talent than Alabama in year one but their talent hasn't been very good the last couple years.

I like the fact the man who caused UF's slide is now at OSU & in about 3 or 4 years OSU will be a mess. Urban has above average talent at OSU but he doesn't have elite talent like he did at UF & most of his talent is for more of a power offensive football team & not the HS offense he runs. IMO Urban will have a hard time turning OSU into UF north & he will be done in about 4 or 5 years with very little to show for his return to coaching. I can't stand the suckeyes so I'm glad a washed up jerk of a coach I don't like is now their coach.

Florida did have more talent as you said, but I think so much more that any comparison is sort of silly. It's not even remotely similar.
In 2007, Saban inherited a team that was horrible. Our LB core was a walk-on, a converted three star WR, a transfer from MTSU that was marginal contributor, and I think the Jack was Brandon Fanney or Keith Rodgers. They were completely devoid of talent. UF has Rivals 100 type guys all over the place at really every position. They just haven’t developed them, and it’s not WM’s fault.
