A few days after Calvin set the world record, a brand new pair of track shoes (in the box) were mistakenly delivered to my apartment. I knew they weren't for me so I knocked on my next door neighbor's door to see if they were his. I didn't know Calvin was my neighbor, but instantly recognized him when he answered the door. I was like "Wow, I just saw you on ESPN!" He politely greeted me, smiled, claimed his shoes, closed the door and that was the last time I ever saw him. Seemed like a very nice, but extremely shy person who kept to himself. I was really hoping he could hang onto record, but it didn't hold up very long as I remember.
