That article by Sally Forde did nothing for me, it was an actual waste of my time. Seriously, what was the purpose of that question yesterday and what was the purpose of that article. Totally pointless and not informative in the least other than validating Mrs Forde as a woman and poor journalist.

I dont think there will ever be a better fit for this football program ever than Coach Saban. It's hilarious that others get tore up over it..
Folks asking about pics so 1. Near Skagway AK 2. Ketchikan AK 3. Space Needle in Seattle. This summer was a great trip.

When will journalists realize that if you want to discuss "small talk issues" it cannot be on a football weekend. Out of 365 days out of the year he might have 2 maybe 3 days where he could sit down and talk to these guys like they would like. Let me go ahead and say during football season or recruiting season are not the times. Choose your times wisely people. Also do some homework about the questions you ask him. Show respect to the man and thats what you get back. If you look at interviews before halftimes (gametime) as he is running off the field this year his interview with Holly Rowe was probably the best he has done. She respects his work ethic and what he does. That is very key in getting anything out of him.

The article references the Bryant half-time interview at the 1982 Iron Bowl where he chewed out the female reporter. Forde says "Alabama fans still blame the reporter for that". Of course we do. She basically said "Did you play Ken Colley at QB because he was white?" She didn't say that but the implication was clear. Bryant didn't appreciate it and neither did I.

So let me get this straight. Pat Forde is a national columnist who gets paid a lot of money for his talents and that was the best question he could ask when speaking to the head coach of the #1 team in the country? Really? I like a lot of what Pat writes but that was not one of his finest hours as a journalist.

If Saban looks it up-- and I'm sure he did -- Pat will really get the treatment next time he tries to get an interview.
Definition of CURMUDGEON
1 archaic : miser
2 a crusty, ill-tempered, and usually old man
What an ass --- he must have come across this word and decided to try and make Saban look like a DA for not knowing what it means.
I would come up with a little known word and wear his ass out with it at the next press conference.
"Pat --- why are you sequacious and ersatz?"
Other than that the article is fine -- I just think the tone of "I'm so brilliant because I came up with this useless word" is overwhelming.

The purpose of the question and the article was to shine some light on a coach who is known for his seemingly ill-tempered personality. I think Forde did a good job of explaining Saban's laser like focus and disdain for anything that distracts from the task at hand. Good article IMO.
