I know you were just throwing this out there, but technically, that's not true. For the last 20 years (1992 - 2011)the most overrated teams (in order), are:

1. Texas (-99 positions)
2. Florida State (-86)
3. Florida (-82)
4. Notre Dame (-81)
5. Oklahoma (-72)

This is essentially just a sum of there differences between their starting position and their final position (Unranked is counted as position 26).

The most underrated teams are:
1. Oregon (+78)
2. Boise State (+72)
T3. Washington State (+70)(surprised me the most, but they haven't been ranked since 2003, so no negative points)
T3. Utah (+64)
5. TCU (+50)

Just thought I would put that out there in case anyone was curious.

Got raw data from someone, just did the totals/averages. A couple of years ago, I also did analysis on who did the most with their recruits by comparing class rankings with final rankings. Pretty interesting stuff, might have that lying around somewhere... just not sure.

I know your stats may suggest otherwise, but it is pretty hard to call the other 4 schools on the list overrated when they've all won National Championships in that period. Heck, Florida alone has won 3, and FSU 2. No arguments with ND though, IMO they are THE most overrated.
