Hankerson, Mitchell leave basketball program

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Charles Hankerson, Jr., and Tony Mitchell will not return to the University of Alabama men’s basketball team, head coach Anthony Grant announced Friday.
The pair have requested and been granted a release from their scholarship at UA.
“We’re appreciative of the contributions they’ve made to our program and we wish them nothing but the absolute best as they pursue the next chapter of their lives and careers,” Grant added.
Hankerson, currently a sophomore at Alabama, has played in 56 games and averaged 3.0 points per game during his two seasons. Mitchell, a junior, saw action in 89 games for the Tide while averaging 12.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game over the past three seasons.

Didn't see the Hankerson transfer coming.
So that gives us 3 scholarships to work with now.

Now if we can just get Eblen to vacate his spot, maybe we can get in some more talent to go with the rest of players that have the talent to make a difference.

Steele's return really cut into Hank's PT. We have lots of bodies at the 2/3 spot. I speculated a couple of months ago that he might want to find greener pastures. I appreciate what he brought to the team and hope he finds a great situation. I also suspect that CAG has an ace or two up his sleeve. Seems he, and his staff, don't care to share their plans with many folks, and certainly not folks who post on fan message boards. Can't say I blame him, although it is frustrating to most of us.

Forgot about Steele. So it's Steele, Cooper, Levi, Releford ,Lacey, Jacobs and hopefully Pollard. I'm good with that just need the role players to do there job and next season will be a good one IMO.
