Help Me with a Debate re: CJ Mosely

A friend of mine asked me to list up to 5 "top" players for Alabama in 2013. I listed Mosley, McCarron, Yeldon, Cooper, and Cyrus. My friend says Mosley does not belong on the list because he is "situational" player. I say it is nuts to say the team's top tackler by far, a consensus all-American and All-SEC player is not a top player on his own team. You?

Tell your friend that C.J. is going to add 15-25 lbs in the offseason and play every down next year.
I think the only reason you didn't see that this year is because of his injury.
Also, if by situational you mean 75-85 % of the snaps then yes, he's a situational guy. We just happen to be in that situation a lot.

Considering that Mosley was projected as a first-round talent if he had come out this year, it is probably safe to say that he is a top player next year.

And LBs that can cover and contain are about to become the new hot commodity in the NFL. Mosely is a player that has very high value.

Based on that theory, every AU QB be would be situational - 75-80% of the plays... run 3 plays / punter... run 3 plays / punter....

He is absolutely one of the best five players on the team.

I hope Mosely doesn't gain any weight. I thought he was great against the run this year, and any additional weight would hurt his coverage skills.

He is not going to gain 15-25 pounds. Where in the heck did you get that?
He's already an every down backer and 15-25 extra pounds in one off season would only ruin what makes him so good...speed.

I would suggest your friend doesn't watch Alabama football games if he is reducing Mosley to a "situational" player. There is not one team in the country that wouldn't love to have Mosley quarterback their defense.
