Help with dog names.

Its been a real bad two weeks. I have prostate cancer & had to put my 14 year old German Shepard (named BAMA) to sleep. I'm going the radiation rout, any way got the good news I could get a puppy from my Dr. I'm getting an 8 week German Shepard puppy Sunday.
Suggestions welcomed. ROLL TIDE ROLL!

well you getting him from a doctor. you can call him "doc" or "Dee-R". my buddy had a bulldog named Nicodemus aka Nico. thats kinda bama related. i wanted to name mu bulldog "Onine" after the championship (got the dog in 2010). just throwing that out there

My best friend has a Shepard named Bear, we are getting one this summer and gonna name him drago, maverick, or something bama related (Javy, Mose, etc
Lebron James will never be as good as Michael Jordan, thus we should get rid of his nickname, "The King".

The name Champ for a barner is singular, for Bama it's plural. I like the name, though. Is your dog named Major after Major Ogilvie?

Wait until you get the pup and observe and play with it for a little while. A name that fits its personality will come to you and it will be natural. Have raised many pups and that has always worked for me.
One exception though. Someone dropped off a 5-week or so pup (pit mix) across the highway and we heard it yelping and took him in. I asked my 5-year old grandson what the puppy's name should be. Will said, "Bottle." So his name is Bottle. Funniest and most enjoyable dog I've every had!

bear is too common imo. yes my dogs full name is Sir Major Oglivie my last name lol. i like giving dogs the surname Sir. you know cause of the NO Sir! thing haha

what do police usually name german shepherds? or is it random like what we choose. since they are so smart maybe it needs a name like that
