"Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, nobody!"
I think alot of these guys are disappointed in the Texas A&M and LSU showings. Several of them were on the Bama is pretty much unbeatable, bandwagon, so now they are trying to distance themselves from that line of thinking. The key for us is playing a clean game (no turnovers or at least a positive turnover ratio), I honestly think that was the difference in the two games that gave us trouble this season.
What these analyst fail to realize is that while Notre Dame has a great rushing defense. They've seen nothing comparable to Alabama's rushing offense. We saw this in 2009 with Texas who had the #1 rush defense in the country. McElroy was injured and our receivers couldn't get open so we were very one dimensional on offense. Even with these advantages Texas couldn't slow down our rushing attack. Notre Dame's entire defensive scheme is built around stopping the run first. What happens when they see a team they can't stop from pounding the rock down their throat? They have to make adjustments and roll an extra safety or two into the box. Now all of a sudden their pathetic cornerbacks are no longer being protected by the conservative coverage schemes and safety help. Boom Amari Cooper over the top. Then you've got Saban and Kirby scheming for a month to stop the ND O which has dissapeared in many games. Alabama is a nightmare matchup for Notre Dame.
I have listen to these so called experts...and ive heard this "UGA matchups better vs ND" but then say "i think Bama would beat ND, but UGA would be a great game"...huh? Color me confused
