Hightower's BCS Title game.

  • Just rewatched the title game and I'm convinced this was the best game Donta played in his great BAMA career. He was all over the field involved in so many tackles and wreaked havoc as a pass rusher. I'm gonna miss him and so thsnkful for how great he was for us.

Watched it again last night and I agree. Hightower played lights out... but man oh man- Kevin Norwood played out of his mind. I only remembered a few plays but he made play after play in that game.

will definitely miss Hightower...great player...great leader. We will miss his leadership!

Hightower may have been the most under appreciated player on this board for what he actually was. He was the best linebacker.

  • I got to say you would be hard pressed to get to me to agree it was his best after watching this year's UT game in person and then on replay. IMO that was DH's best game ever.

And yes, I was there and watched a replay of the BCS Title Game. But you are correct DH played a great game.

I will say that for the title game, I think Jerrel Harris played his best ever game. He shut down the option so many times it was scary.

Yeah, his performance in the BCS game is a close second to the UT game. He made play after play that night against the viles, my favorite of which was the interception. rolltideroll

And I still don't understand why the talking heads had Donta going in the 2nd round. He was the best player on the best D of all time. biggrin

I was at that UT game and went home talking all the way to Bham about what a great game he played. The rematch against LSU was special as well though. Didn't Derrick Thomas have a huge game against A&M in the hurricane bowl too?

My husband is a big UGAy fan. (Bless his heart.) And he loves him some Donta. He's also a big Steelers fan, and I swear I thought he was gonna cry when they drafted that O-lineman from Stanford, I think it was.

And I think DT had like 25 sacks in that game vs. TAMU. lol Every time I think about DT, I get happy and sad at the same time. I know. I know. dramaqueen

Spot on..he was fantastic.....but for me, Oct. 22, 1998 Alabama vs Penn State. Derrick Thomas. badass. and in the Old Gray Lady which i actually miss a little.

Great pics! I had not seen the 3rd one. And I think it's safe to assume that Ryan Williams shit his pants. lol

Like the drity skank you hooked up with in high school secretly just to get the job done.

BDS is stupid for a college stadium and very nice compared to plenty of pro stadiums.

And for the record, there will never be another performance like the one on October 22, 1988 by Derrick Thomas. I will never forget being there for that in person.

    #55 FOREVER.
