I'm looking forward to a true '' reloading '' year with the defense. I think the defense will be solid for as long as Saban is here

In looking past the numbers, I would like to know your opinion on who will become the tone setters for this years' defense? Last year, DH, CU, DK and MB all made a lot of physical plays in the running game, especially early in the game, that sent the message that you are not going to run on this defense and it really seemed to intimidate several teams. Since those guys will be gone, who will set the tone defensively?

If the offense can hold on to the ball longer this year and give the defense a little extra rest...look out...those boys will be hungry, have that chip on their shoulder like last years unit had with an attitude of something to prove...hurtful bunch comes to mind!

The key to me will be the cornerbacks. If they play well, Alabama's going to have a terrific defense. If not ...

I'm really looking forward to seeing how this team compares to the 2010 team. If we win the national championship again, Nick Saban for president.

Can you just imagine if this defense is even 90% of the last one how nasty this team will be? That's my image of this season - "how can they possibly be this good again???"

We won the toss and decided to "Kick Ass". Another great Saban quote when asked about the BCS game with LSU.

If the offense can control the ball and score a lot of points it will take a lot of pressure off the defense. They will grow up fast. However when you have great talent and great coaching you end up with a great defense and Alabama has both. The offense is going to control the ball and be great. What we don't know is what the play calling will be like with a new offensive coord. However I expect it to look a lot like before. As Saban has said many times, at Bama we don't change what we do, the coordinators fit into our scheme not the other way around and I fully expect that this year.

Ive been saying the same thing all summer. Imho, this was the biggest fault in 2010. With the lack of experience at corner, it always seemed to be a missed assignment on the edges that led to big game-changing plays that year. Really feel their biggest tests will come at Arkansas, and right behind that is the two game stretch in October that seems to be overlookedi, which is the back-to-back road games at Mizzou and Tenn. I feel one of the those two games will be a true battle from start to finish. Its that time of the year where everyone will be banged up, and both of those teams will be fired up for Bama coming into town. I think both of those games will be like going into a hornets nest.

This d will be definitely better than 2010. Maybe not a huge difference in stats but in areas that make the difference between championships and 3 losses

Not only is this statement questionable, it seriously needs some punctuation.

Well, we could increase our statistics for total defense from last season by 25%, and we still would have led the nation in total defense. Therefore, we could take a 25-30% drop in that category and still be a top 5 defense. IOW, I think we'll be pretty good.
