The Roundtables new game if hypotheticals has got me thinking. Given the success of the football team would you be willing to trade some of that future success to the basketball team. Would you take a 8-5 record from the football team to get a final four appearance? If so, would you take a 4-7 for a basketball national championship?

Didnt Florida once win a national title in both sports a few years back? It's possible.
But no, hell no I wouldn't trade. I dont talk to my 3 year old about how great his first bama basketball game will be. Its all BDS.

I want a baseball title just as bad as a basketball title, I want a basketball title just as bad as football title, I want a football title as much as the air I breathe.

I would trade yes. Football won't stay down buy a tourney run would help us get the high end recruits needed to sustain a program in hoops.
In basketball recruiting there is a definite upper echelon of schools that pick over the heap. The rest pick over the scrap heap looking for hidden gems.

College basketball blows. Outside of some 15 seeds upsetting good teams, occasionally during March madness, its pretty much a boring sport. The superstars leave too early and few teams have good players there for 3 years anymore...
Give me football championships and let the Dukes of the world jump for joy in April...

If you flipped it and asked Duke fans would they trade a basketball title for a football title I feel you would get a resounding "No". That is just the pulse of the fanbase

As I said before we started winning all these national championships. I would trade us going win less in basketball every year to win a national championship in football.

Agree with Dukie, in the fact that I want to go to Omaha. Living in SC, that's all I hear about. A final four would be amazing too, but I most definitely want the CWS.

Good question. My awbarn buddy and I had this exact discussion about 2 years ago. My answer is no because I don't follow the basket ball program very closely. Now I'm not one who comes on here and complains about the lack of support of the bball program either. So no, I would not sacrifice any of the football succes for basketball. Just my opinion though.
