I just don't understand why Goldman doesn't come to Alabama

  • I thought for sure he would be UA bound. It just doesn't make since because its almost guaranteed he would win at least one NC. Also if he came in and worked hard it's guaranteed he would be a first round draft pick.

Obviously his chances of a NC are much lower elsewhere, but the latter part he can achieve pretty much anywhere he goes. Hell, that LB from BC is projected to go first round is he not? Apparently some guys don't focus as much on championships a la Clowney... at least I hope he didn't going to SCar and all...

you sir are exactly right! I mean, who wants to win a National Championship? I sure don't so thats why I go to Rutgers or UNC or Texas A&M or Cal or Clemson or South Carolina!

Hell, if I go to Alabama I will have to work too damn much and probably still wont start soooooooooooooo, I will go somewhere where I can get on the field FASTER and not have to work as hard!

Something very similar to that is what ALOT of these kids are saying, they just WONT admit it!

  • They probably think they will START the tradition of winning titles while they are there but thats HUGE pipe dreams!

    Coaching MATTERS

    Conference MATTERS

How good the team already is MATTERS

So don't go to some bball school or some school who doesn't win 10 plus every year and think you can turn it around!

Insert Gunner Kiel: I want to go to IU and start making them win! At least that kid did see the light eventually! He has a LOT better shot at ND!

well there are several factors that could come into play ...
    1. a recruit may not have the self-confidence he could break into the 2 deep, some never do.
    2. would prefer not to play NT & isnt a good (true) fit as a 34 DE
    3. the big fish small pond personality
    4. some want the "saturday-bbq" enviroment vs the 4th qtr program lifestyle.

Sure, you CAN be a 1st rounder anywhere.......that's not how informed parents and recruits should think though. The mindset should be about maximizing your potential, and which program will put you in the best position to achieve that. There isn't a place in America that comes close to Alabama in that department.

First, there are no guarantees in life. Second, you are a Bama fan on a Bama message board for fans and I feel you are probably a little biased about your assessment here lol.

  • No offense, but do you read the boards. He has a handler. Bama (Coach Saban) does not like dealing with handlers (see Byrce Brown and Keenan Allen). Let Goldman go. He fits in well at FSU or Aubbie.

Guess that's why Saban is visiting him TODAY.

According to you, every single recruit this board wants is ours.

For everyone else...C'mon!! Some kids like other schools more. I could get on my soapbox but I've done it too many times already. There are plenty of reasons kids choose a school over Bama and a program like FSU does have something to offer.

  • I agree Crimson, if he honestly does not want to come here and WORK, which a lot of young people dont, even good football players, let him go. I dont care. I would rather see someone come in that WANTS to be here and WORK. I dont pay a lot of money to fly there, get rooms there and have to purchase tickets at a high price to see a College Student who does want to be a Champion. Good statement Crimson. I love it.
