i just hope that Theo can rebuild us and quick. Im an avid cubs fan and I love the cubs. I still watch the embarassment that they are right now but it is hard. I hate to say it but I am glad to see any life that this team decides to show. It makes for a much better game if we get fired up than just getting our brains kicked in. I played college baseball and the cubs are full of AA and AAA players right now. Its really bad.

I will admit and concur that I think it would good for baseball if the Cubs finally get a ring. Why? Because I like the fact that the fans are still passionate even in the face of the 104 year drought. When the Marlins won those 2 WS, it was a joke. Fan base was crap. Cubs used to be the Chicago Orphans just 6 years before their last WS. If that tells you how long its been.

Man, I missed a lot during my brief absence from this thread. I think we can all agree that it will be joyous to see the Cubs take the series tonight and to make the trip to see the Cubs/Braves at Wrigley South in July. (g)

So, the Cubs hit one batter, sandwiched between two HBPs by Braves pitchers (one of which nearly hits Reed Johnson in the head), but the Cubs are bush league? I just want to make sure I understand this correctly.
As for Marmol, his display had nothing to do with the Braves. He has been struggling mightily, lost his role as the closer, and has been catching hell from the fans. He was understandably fired up. Apparently emotion should be removed from baseball? Uggla should have turned around and gotten himself ready for the bottom half of the inning. I think he as angry at himself for striking out again, this time to a guy who can barely hit the broad side of a barn right now.
I didn't notice the childish behavior of Jeff S, but I'll take your word for it. I have no idea what you are talking about in regards to Soto after the game. I think sometimes people find things to pick at after suffering defeat, especially to a poor team (as a Cubs fan, I admit they are not good right now nor will they be while they rebuild their system for the next couple of years).

Once again, getting whipped in this thread must be at your request. As in "thank you sir, may I have another!" Cubs/Braves are already playing this current series at Wrigley. Which means this the only time the Braves will make any trip to Wrigley this season. , how's that feel

See, I disagree completely about Soto. His first gestures appeared to be back at the umpire showing him that he caught the ball. Then, as he was walking to the mound, he was looking back towards the third base dugout. That's the home dugout, and Diaz obviously would have been in the first base dugout after hustling down to first. Soto is a good dude and gained my respect for his no nonsense approach with Zambrano in the past (speaking of bush league).
You guys are much better at interpreting the goings-on without aid of sound or full context of the actions on the field than I am. Who's to say Heyward didn't yell at Samardzija to cause a reaction? I commend him for not trying to get into it with Heyward. There is no need to get in a scuffle there. He would have risked getting pounded, being ejected, being suspended, and would have given the game over to a suspect bullpen.
I too have no issues with any of the batters hit during the game. I just don't understand the bush league tag in some previous posts.

Haha...you look incredibly stupid right now. Sorry but it's true.
As for his comment, the Cubs do bring a lot of fans to Turner Field. However, all they normally do is watch the Braves beat the Cubs. Actually, over the past 20 years the Braves have a better record against the Cubs at Wrigley than they do at Turner. Maybe Wrigley should be called Turner North? Interesting...
