This is not to start a flame war...im just making conversation, I know i'm gonna hear Saban has a plan", and I know he does. "Your not a coach" and I know I'm not. However, I see a few more Darius Philon situation coming by the end of this train ride in Feb. I see maybe 5 or 6 and I'm not sure how I feel about. I say this on the brink of the Mcleod commitment and reading some people saying why take this commit with numbers being so tight. I personally don't have an issue with the commitment. If CNS thinks he can play i'm good with it. My concern is that Alabama/ Saban ask these kids to make a commitment to the university but i'm not sure we are staying committed to them...i.e. Philon and the RB that eventually went to Kentucky last year. With 6 to 7 spots left according to most there are probably 15 to 20 guys we are still in on heavily. I know some commits will be scared off by that and choose to leave on their own, but what about the ones that want to stay committed and we say sorry to because a Mathew Thomas or a Montavious Adams or one of these LB's from Louisiana decides to come aboard late in the game. I have to believe guys like Robert N. and Robert Foster and maybe 1 or 2 more have scholly's set aside for them which then puts our number at 3 maybe 4 spots left with still 12 to 15 guys we are heavy on. Some of these commits are going to be asked to look elsewhere after making a commitment and we took it. I'm just not sure how I feel about that. I also understand recruits play the game and play a school sometimes behind the scenes but a commitment should be honored by the school. I just worry in due time maybe some of these high school coaches and the media is really going to plant that seed and start to hurt our reputation seriously. Like I said I know this will probably create a flame fest but I'm really just trying to hear some thoughts here. I think this is going to be a great class but with some turmoil in the end. Thought???
