I'm a Tubby Smith as well. He is without a doubt a quality coach. In his fourth and fifth seasons at Minnesota he went 12-24 in conference play. Minnesota could have bailed on him and tried their luck at another coaching search. In his sixth year he is 15-2 (3-1) and ranked eighth in the country.

Now Tubby would be a coup!

Tubby Smith could go to the REC Center on campus, pick 15 random guys, and win 20 games with them. He just knows how to coach fundamentals, effort, and execution.

If Tubby came to Bama and had a similar run as he had in Minnesota, the fans here would have fired him after year 5 if not after year 4.
We need to stay the course with Grant. Minnesota did so with Tubby and it appears they are being rewarded for it. I think Grant deserves to see his prized class(Lacey, Randolph, Cooper, Jacobs, Retin) graduate. I think Grant will prove that he is worthy of his job. If he doesn't, Greg Marshall is a guy who could win big here.

Yes. I was hoping we'd hire him when we fired CMG. Not sure how well he could recruit but he's a hell of a coach.

Don't count on that. Reportedly, Saban wants Bama to have a good hoops program. It's a great opportunity.

Coleman is second class. I even thought it was back in the 90's when I was there. I know we've done renovations but it's only so much lipstick you can put on a pig. That's part of the problem because kids today love to see the bling and that 60's architecture ain't impressing anyone. Grant is a good coach, gottfried was a good coach but its far easier to get talent to the Carolina's than to Alabama. Until we can get someone to pull in some solid players and get us some quality depth we will always be mediocre and it may take a bigger name than Grant to do it. We need a new baseball field also.

Coleman isn't that bad since the improvements the past few years. Not the best but still better than half the SEC.
Grant is a solid coach. He didn't forget how to coach this year. We can and should debate whether this job requires a "promoter" and I wish UA would do more with seating, etc.
The season ticket holders who just buy tickets to improve their football status and NEVER come should be moved.
Problem with our basketball program is the month of Nov and Dec when basketball starts but we're still playing football. Hard to get 4,000 people there for those games. If basketball started in January our program would be on better footing.
Crowd for UT game was probably 8,000 to 9,000. Not terrible but would look better if seating arrangements were different.
