If we win the coin toss in Dallas...

  • Posted this on TBB but...

IMO, I expect us to take the ball first and pound the run all night. I think Michigans ONLY chance to beat us would be to come out guns blazing with their passing attack scoring first.

If we string together drives 4-5+ minutes long we'll run away with it by keeping Robinson off the field.

Also with Fowler being our biggest/most physical RB I think he's going to have the biggest night of our backs, he's poised for a monster season.

    Anyways that's all haha rtr

  • In Big games. If Saban wins the Toss he usually takes the ball.

  • I may be mistaken but I believe in domess he defers and in open stadiums he wants the wind at his back in the 4th qtr. It evidently is something that he has done since he was at Toledo when his kicker had to go into the wind in the 4th. I think taking the ball would be a great idea because of our experince on O and it will allow out inexperienced D an extra moment to get a fell for the game.

If by "beat us", you mean score. If you look at last year, the only time teams found any success was on the first drive. I wouldn't look for a opening touchdown to put us down.

Didn't really mean it as just the first drive. But they would have to light up our secondary the whole game to win. If we score first, instead of playing catchup they have no shot.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the kicking team chooses which goal to defend. I can't remember all the games but I know the '09 SECCG we took the ball first in the dome. So according to your theory in domes we take the ball, in open stadiums we defer and try to get the wind at our back in the 4th which kind of jives with what other posters are saying here

  • My wife and I went to The Brothers Of The Sun concert at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington TX on Saturday. The stadium is so awesome. I cant wait to watch The Tide Roll over Michigan on Sept 1st. The only way I see Michigan having a chance is if we dont come prepared and play a very bad game. I dont see that happening. Coach Saban will have the team ready in every way. The Tide will roll in Arlington TX at Cowboys Stadium.

  • I would take Blake Sims' arm over Denard Robinson's.

The dude has some wheels, but he throws some dead ducks out there, and is a turnover machine.

  • We take the ball and ram it down there throats.. then we take the ball away from them and then ram it down there throats

  • Ask Clemson Va tech and UGA with smaller lines how they like our run on the opening drives. Avg 3-4 yards a carry for 9-10 plays and you've got their attention

  • Michigan will come in thinking like every team has for the last 5 years, stop the run. They do not know that this is potentially the best quarterback and group of receivers that Bama has had in quite some time. I think we come out with play action and bootlegs just like the BCSNCG and quickly hit a few scores and then the pounding begins. Hopefully, Michigan's defense will be reeling the entire game from not knowing where we are gonna attack next.
