If you trail 14-3 at the half, you didn't dominate anyone

  • Just sayin...

  • Agreed, but they did dominate 2nd half... But I will take the win.

  • the only thing they dominated was the game clock. You have the ball for almost 40 game minutes with no turnovers and only manage 17 points? Wheres the domination in only getting 2 TD's?

They put two long drives on us. Ran the ball down our throats. We had one completed pass on offense. And several 3-and-outs. Statistically it wasn't even close.

We were on the ropes, no doubt about it. They were a play or two from putting the game out of reach.

As Saban said in post game. You can either think you were lucky and not realize you got your ass kicked, or you can improve on those mistakes. The first step is admitting you got dominated for much of the game and to never let that happen again. We still won, but we faced a lot of adversity doing so. Champions find ways to win.

  • You could say that the first half was a story of two different quarters. You could say that they won the first quarter and we won the second. Call it whatever you want...but when the opponent runs 25 offensive plays to your 10 and gains twice as many yards, not to mention the wide disparity in first downs...whatever. I might not use the word dominate to describe the first quarter, but it is what it is. Yes, our defense did a good job of holding them to three points. I don't understand why some fans get so defensive when people suggest that we got outplayed in certain stretches of the game.

If the shoe was on the other foot, and we had narrowly lost a game where we had gained 100 yards more, had the ball 20 minutes longer, lost an onsides kick because of a fluke bounce, and seen our coaches make some highly questionable decisions, how would we describe the comparable play of the two teams? I think we know the answer, because we've seen something similar play out here before. People have varying opinions about what they saw. Funny how that some seem to get so defensive about that.

  • They dominated everything but the scoreboard. We took care of that

Disagree. Our O-line held its own and actually out performed LSU's d-line. The O-line couldn't help that the passing game was not clicking. Only one sack given up and an average of 6 plus yards per carry. Bama actually pushed around the LSU d-line when they got a chance.

Well, I've heard all this "LSU dominated" stuff, so I went and reread the rules again.

They say that the ONLY point of the game is to SCORE MORE POINTS THAN THE OTHER TEAM by the time the 4th quarter (or overtime) expires. It doesn't say you win based on ANY other statistic.

We were certainly NOT dominated in the only stat that matters.

TJ doesn't fumble on the 5 yard line and it's 21-10 in the 4th.

  • We got out played for most of the game, but when needed we steped up and answered the bell thats why the game isn't over until the last seconds tick off the clock. Now spit that game out and learn and move onto TA&M and Johnny football. RTR!!!!!!!!!!!

I think a lot of people are overlooking this rather huge detail. That play was blown wide-open. He was walking in the end zone. That turnover kept LSU in the game. Not the other way around.

I didn't think they ran the ball down our throats. 2.8 average per rush. But by controlling the clock is where I was going. Jab jab jab the whole second half I agree. Knockout blow was the only thing we avoided, that one was left for us. I'd concede the fact they controlled the game, that much is obvious. But if I'm feeling dominated, I gotta see more than 17 points. That much credits the teams resiliency. Hey, I'd also concede that if I'm a LSU fan, I'm hating Les about now. Players did all they could but he chose weird plays instead of seeing how the game was being played. I don't think he had the pulse of his own team because of how that second half was going. He himself IMO took momentum away from his own team. I agree with you though that the game was controlled more by LSU. I just think we were more clutch in a lot of ways more than them. Box score viewing does make u shake your head though. Lol, a lot too!

Exactly and the missed TD pass to Cooper early in the game. Either one of these plays and it is a blowout.

  • I think Alabama had MANY more opportunities to blow the game open than LSU did. I think LSU's Oline dominated our Dline, but we did the same to theirs. TWO unforced fumbles in LSU territory? One was an easy TD. The other would have had us at midfield with them on the ropes. Bama NEVER has unforced fumbles, much less two in one game.

The only difference between Bama and LSU is that they decided to run on first and second down in the 2nd half, we didn't stick to the run.

And it is worth noting that our final drive took less time than LSU had remaining on the clock to punch back. They didn't even get a first down.

We were able to run at will which was very surprising to me

  • anyone who thinks LSU dominated that game is crazy. If Yeldon and AJ dont cross up that handoff we're all sleeping through the 4th quarter just like every other Bama game. LSU never, NEVER, stopped Lacy or Yeldon on the ground. It was cake for them all night. It just so happened that in the fourth Quarter most of our plays were pass plays against that LSU 3 man front. They cover pretty well when they play with 3 down linemen. The fact that Alabama went away from the ground game in the fourth quarter and still won shows just how much Bama's passing game has grown with AJ at the helm.

If youre dominating a game the way people claim LSU was, dont get your ass handed to you on fourth and and one late in the game.

Not sure if this post is serious or not. Ran it down our throats for a total of 130 yards? They avged less than 3 yards a rush. They only had four more first downs than we did and trailed for more than 3 qtrs against us.

They outplayed us in the second half. That is it. We had more yards, first downs, rushing yards, and msot importantly a double digit lead at half.

Domination is what we did to them last year in the title game. Outgaining a team by less than 100 yards, getting outrushed, giving up over 7 yards a carry to the RBs, while not having the ability to avg 3 yards, and trail for 3/4 of the game, is not dominating.

Easy to say the same thing for us. If AJ hits a wide open Cooper in the middle of the field and Yeldon doesn't fumble the ball we end up scoring 35 points and beat them by 2 or 3 tds.

I did not watch a domination. I watched a team get out played in the second half and then find the answer when it mattered.

Trailing on the score board for 3/4 of the game is not dominating IMO. Getting outrushed, is not dominating IMO. Having only 100 more yards, and only 4 more first downs is not dominating.

Did they out play us? Probably, but far from dominating IMO.

Where is the murder statistically? Besides controlling the clock they only had 100 yards more of total O and only 4 more first downs. They didn't avg near as many yds per play, avged less than 3 yards a rush (while giving up 7 to us).

Except for TOP and passing yards, we were equal or better.
