If you trail 14-3 at the half, you didn't dominate anyone

I think a lot of people are overlooking this rather huge detail. That play was blown wide-open. He was walking in the end zone. That turnover kept LSU in the game. Not the other way around.

yep...that would've shut their crowd down, and of course would've been enough to win the game right there...

    Just sayin...

Give credit where credit is due...

We were almost run out of the building in the second half. It's a good thing AJ has turned into an excellent 2 minute drill QB. Because except for Bama's last drive, LSU's offense dominated in the second half.

Where is the murder statistically? Besides controlling the clock they only had 100 yards more of total O and only 4 more first downs. They didn't avg near as many yds per play, avged less than 3 yards a rush (while giving up 7 to us).

Except for TOP and passing yards, we were equal or better.

How ever you want to slice it. We were about to lose the game and most if this board was either on suicide watch or had already quit. I am very thankful for the win but the main thing that sticks out to me about this game other than the final drive is lsu gashing us up the middle and our d never being able to get off the field on third down, 2 things I never thought I'd be able to say

I didn't think they ran the ball down our throats. 2.8 average per rush. But by controlling the clock is where I was going. Jab jab jab the whole second half I agree. Knockout blow was the only thing we avoided, that one was left for us. I'd concede the fact they controlled the game, that much is obvious. But if I'm feeling dominated, I gotta see more than 17 points. That much credits the teams resiliency. Hey, I'd also concede that if I'm a LSU fan, I'm hating Les about now. Players did all they could but he chose weird plays instead of seeing how the game was being played. I don't think he had the pulse of his own team because of how that second half was going. He himself IMO took momentum away from his own team. I agree with you though that the game was controlled more by LSU. I just think we were more clutch in a lot of ways more than them. Box score viewing does make u shake your head though. Lol, a lot too!

Coulda-Woulda-Shoulda, but I thought if any of those big gambles worked out, the game could've been out of reach in their favor. If their FG kicker doesn't miss two field goals, or if they got that fake or onsides that place would've erupted and we probably would've been down by 2 scores.

  • The funny part about all the gashing with the running game talk is the fact that it was our secondary that was gashed..Had LSU been able to run like some are claiming, given the fact that they were sosuccessful throwing they wouldve scored 30 points...

  • Dominate would be what we did to the corndogs in the title game. Out played yes. Dominate... Not in my opinion.

    This.

We were getting dominated according to pages 14-17 of the in-game thread.

I'm sorry man but they didn't even avg 3 yards a carry. That is not gashing anyone. Our backs avged over 7 yds a carry. That is gashing a team. 3 yards a carry puts you close to the last in the nation.

LSU's avg ypc is less than a yard better than Bama's avg for the season.

Did they convert third downs? Yes. But they did not run the ball that well.

If Yeldon doesn't fumble and AJ completes the pass to Cooper that he has all year we are up and the game is over. I think it is highly more probably for AJ to complete the pass he has made all year and Yeldon not fumble than it is for LSU's kicker to kick 2 field goals that would have been his career longs.

I guess you can call them a miss but IMO asking your kicker to do something he has never done before falls in the "hope and pray" category and lets hope we get lucky.
