Charles was fat and raw coming out of HS and college.. doesnt surprise me he was afraid of competition then.

Saw that as well...he said Auburn losing 12 games to end the season made them more attractive. Chris Webber saying he had 15 dunks in a game at the age of 12 is crazy.

Wasn't around back then, but my guess is it was the $$$. He probably gambled it away back then as well. That said, the guy is hilarious.

Don't think so. There is not a huge demand for 6-4 fat guys in college. ALso I don't believe the barn puts the $ame empha$i$ on B-ball they do football. He was fun to watch. I remember him totally dominating KY's two 7 footers Bowie and i forget the other guy's name.

This is great perspective! I think we (as fans) sometimes lose sight that these are 16, 17, 18 year old kids & their priorities aren't always in the right order. Some from lack of a support system/guidance & some from just being a kid.

I've always thought of recruits in 1 of 3 categories related to this:

1. Kids that "get it" & realize their choice impacts much more than the next 4-5 yrs of their life

2. Kids who have the potential to "get it" with a little development & guidance in the program

3. Kids who will learn the hard way, at some point, but not worth the chance

IMO a huge thing that gets lost many times is the fact that even really well intentioned parents can get caught up being a "fan" & need guidance through the process themselves. Most have probably never been through the recruiting madness & aren't always sure how to handle situations themselves.
