    What do you like about Clemson? “I’ve never been to Clemson. I’ve not talked to anybody from Clemson’s team. I don’t want to go there because that’s out of my way. There is nothing that would take me there. What took me to Ole Miss was Denzel. I haven’t been to any other school. Honestly, if Denzel was not at Ole Miss, I wouldn’t have gone to Ole Miss. My No. 1 team is Alabama. That’s one school I truly love, Alabama. But I don’t have child in Alabama to take me to Alabama. But my son is in Mississippi at Ole Miss. That’s what took me to Mississippi. So I’m not going to travel all over the place just to talk to coaches. No, I won’t. I’m not being cocky or anything. It’s just not in my schedule. I just went to Ole Miss to visit with my son. I had a wonderful opportunity there to talk with the coaches and the academic people, and that’s it.”

    Why do you like Alabama? “Alabama has a good football team. And they’re solid. They have good academics. Right now, they are undefeated. And I’ve stayed in stayed in touch with their coach on Facebook. He is a good person. I like the school but again, I would prefer for Denzel and Robert to play together.”

    She says she wants them to play together but won't pressure either one of them but she also mentions RN wants to play with his brother too.

    Yeah. It sounds like...she's going to keep pushing Robert to Ole Miss to play with his brother. I know that he apparently likes that idea as well.

    To me, it sounds like it would take Robert saying that he wants to visit Alabama and getting Coach Saban to talk to his mom face to face.

    I think a face to face with Coach Saban would win her over in a heartbeat. I think she would love everything He offers.

    I don't know if we recruited his brother Denzel. But I wish either we had...or that his brother was a Jr. or Sr. They could play 3 years together. That's a tough thing to overcome. IMO

    sounds a little bitchy, IMO, that Clemson is out of her way - in the same way Ole Miss was out of her way, but now that brother is there it is all of sudden okay as an option, though it was originally a thorn in her side.

    I'm glad she likes us, and respects us. Good for us, and I agree with her in that I think we offer both top notch academics and obviously football. But if I was Robert I'd be a little ticked my mom couldn't support me and make one weekend out of her busy schedule to see if maybe I (Robert) made a decent/good choice.

  • Denzel officially goes up my list right with Malcolm Mitchell on the ones that got away that I wish we had gotten. I think Denzel is a similar player to Vinnie in terms of skill set. I'll take another Vinnie and I will damn sure take that freak brother of his.

    Doesn't she live in Africa? If so, "out of her way" just might be an understatement, here. Either way, you may want to edit the word, "bitchy," out of your post, if not, delete it, altogether, as it doesn't fall within Saban's charge to fans: "Be a champion."

  • This is kind of a weird situation. As a parent, you'd think she'd want to be involved in possibly the most important decision of her son's life to this point. Even if that includes setting aside a few weekends for traveling to "remote locations" that are out of her way. If she's not going to be involved in it, then maybe she just needs to trust her son and his coaches that they either have made or will make the right decision. I can appreciate the fact that she wants her boys playing on the same team.

    It isn't over. These situations change by the minute.

    Another factor to consider (and I'm not saying that it is being discussed now) ... Alabama recruited Nkemdiche as a Jack linebacker. He's 282 pounds right now and will easily add another 10-15 pounds of muscle to his frame before he's done growing. Several schools are ultimately projecting him as a DT at the next two levels. It's beginning to look more and more like he would be perfectly suited to be an end in a 3-4 scheme.

    So many factors in this one and many months to go.
