Is there a downside to signing RFoster?

  • I ask because of the way his recruitment has went down. He's a great talent, but is he a player that is going to be hard to discipline and control? Is his mother gonna be a problem?

Obvoiusly if anyone can make a great player out of him it's Coach Saban. But, with everything that has went on with him it reminds me of the Linnie Patrick situation many years ago. Us older guys remember Linnie and Reuben's situation reminds me of Linnie.

  • I have no worries. If he or any other player becomes a problem, Coach Saban will do what needs to be done. We are lucky to have a system that doesn't let the whims of individual players dictate the course of our program.

  • No. I think from reading on here that Trooper was really the person that fed a lot of bs to this kid. Now that Trooper is gone I think he is back to the kid who he was before his de-commitment. I still want him because he is a player and Saban will turn him into a beast

Exactly. If he comes to UA he will either do the right thing or wash out.

Well, there's always the possibility that he isn't really eligible anymore and that auburn suicide bombs him like MSU did to them with Cam.

you beat me to posting this. RO had only one incident while at UA and look at the mess hes been in since leaving. Foster would either not be a problem or he wouldnt last. Besides, I havent heard any off the field issues with him. The stuff that gets on our nerves is just an 18 year old super star wanting attention. He doesnt seem to have problems with the law, and thats all i would be worried about.

Exactly...he has zero issues with the law and is by all accounts I've seen a good young man/teammate. He has provided a ton of drama but only via recruiting. The one thing that concerned me was the weight gain over summer but we all saw how he showed up at the Under Armour game.

That suicide bomb you speak of never went off.... Wish it would.

  • Nah. Most importantly we get a tremendous player. Second, the barn gets screwed. Perfect scenario IMO. Hope he chooses us. One of the strangest recruiting processes I can remember.

  • Note Rolando McClain as mentioned above. With all respect to Ingram, I thought RM was the best college football player in the country when Ingram won the Heisman. Even if Foster makes you scratch your head a bit, I think this guy is more than worth the risk (if any exists), He appears to be the "alpha" type that CNS mentions as paramount to his group of linebackers and its overall effect for the defense to perform at peak levels.

  • Think about what these guys go through. How many people go to college and have a hard time deciding on a major? How many declare only to change their minds at some point? Now imagine what it would be like if you were being recruited by various departments and their were websites all over the Internet updating your every move. Throw in the things your friends and family are telling you and I can see how it would tough to make up your mind.
