Yeah, actually no.
Jai has a ton of friends/family/fans who are Auburn supporters. I've spoken to numerous Auburn supporters about this who are very close friends of mine and personally know Jai. They all say the same thing. They are going to be huge Jai Miller fans and can't wait to see what he does on the field....they'll cheer for him even though he's wearing Crimson, but also pissed that he didn't come to AU. I also know a guy who works in the UGA Athletic Dept who said the same thing. UGA was very disappointed that he decided not to go there. Georgia wanted him and aggressively pursued him.
That doesn't sound like "95% of the people would be laughing hysterically" to me...

The point isn't specific to Jai Miller, it's more a general point, which is that it's funny because if Auburn folks were talking about how an ex-MLB player was better than a 5-star player then we'd all be calling them delusional (and probably rightfully so).

....Baseball was his third best sport, and look how that turned out. I know it may look like I'm building him up to be the next coming of Jesus, and it's not like that at all. I'm just saying that there is a better chance of him seeing the field immediately then 2 years down the line.

I think from a professional athlete's perspective, Tony Conner has more "prime" years ahead of him than Jai Miller does, who is in his late 20's.
Look, again, I'm not taking away from Jai will accomplish at UA, nor am I doubting him. All I am trying to say is that it is ridiculous to say that he is a better prospect than Conner on the day that Conner says no thanks to us given the difference in where they are in their lives.
I think the OP was just trying to make himself or us (I'm not sure) feel better about losing Conner by saying that Jai Miller may be a better prospect than him. And as another poster said above, if another fan base tried to pull that, we would give them hell over it. Why is that so hard to admit?
