I think one of the staff mentioned the other day that he's one of those "hard decisions" that Bama's staff had to make. At times they were really high on him, and at times they weren't, which leads me to believe they were having an issue with his consistency.

I watched him play one game this year on ESPN and I'm not going to bash the kid, but I could see their point.

Bama is very, very picky with their DB selection, especially corners.....

I have no definitive knowledge, but I think the question of still pursuing him was answered by us offering Cook after the AL-MS all star game and him committing. I still think we sign Vonn Bell. I think Jalen Ramsey is in the rear view mirror, but I don't know if that is because we drove off and left him or he said he wanted out of the car.

It seems to me like the writing is on the wall. It's speculation on my part that the staff probably feels comfortable enough with Vonn Bell. I don't think they would just back off a talent like Ramsey without cause. The spot freed up by McNeil helped this situation IMO, as that allowed the offer to go out to Cook. Cook, Smith, and Bell.. great CB class.

I also kept hearing Ramsey was more of a Safety prospect for our staff? Not sure though
