Not defending what JW did, as he should have known better and is responsible for the stupidity of his actions, but that cop comes off as a complete POS with some sort of ego/inferiority issue. Battery!?! Really? And yes I know it technically fits the definition, but give me a break and use some discretion.
And yes, I'm white.

"Wilder then told Bramblett that Camarda was not going to jail and pushed him, according to the release. Bramblett then unholstered his taser and warned Wilder he would be tasered."
Yep, this sounds like battery to me.
Again guys, I'm not saying Wilder is in the right or that he shouldn't be prosecuted for what he did. I'm only saying that what he did is not battery IMHO. Resisting arrest I'm fine with, obstruction of justice sure, but battery is a little unreasonable. I'm not a cop basher or anything of the sort, but I do believe that our law enforcement officials should be held to a higher standard of professionalism and that this characterization of Wilder's actions makes me question the officer's integrity and/or judgment.
Just stating my opinion. Take it or leave it. But no one is above reproach and to suggest otherwise is naive at best.

On what planet is it EVER ok to lay hands on a police officer?? He did hold a higher standard, Wilder didn't take an ass beating with him to jail. You put your hands on your dad or mom? You contradict yourself, and make no sense. You want the officer to carry a high standard, but don't want him to be treated the same way.
As an officer, if you have the balls to put your hands on someone carrying a taser & gun....you better believe I'm gonna take your a$$ serious and as a threat.

Look man, I don't think you understand what I'm saying. I apologize if I'm being unclear. I am NOT saying what Wilder did was ok by any stretch. I am NOT saying he shouldn't be punished to the fullest extent of the law according to what he did.
I AM saying that in my humble opinion, what he did shouldn't be considered BATTERY. I disagree with the officer who characterized it as such. That is ALL I am saying.
