Jim Brown...

  • What is this guys problem? Seem like an arrogant, jealous, sad old man that thinks he is 10 times better than any running back who has ever played. Yeah, you were an amazing running back, but seriously get your head out of your ass.

  • When griping about what someone says it usually helps to actually say what he said.

If you are still referring to what he said about TR that was over a month ago at the draft.

i agree, every time I hear him speak, he's bitter...EVERY TIME. Compare him, who was even more challenged by the social forces at the time, to Jackie Robinson---talk about a total difference. Jackie NEVER is anything but kind and gracious...OTOH, Brown...ugh....

  • It's apparently a symptom that comes from quitting in your prime and therefore never finding out what he potentially could have been. Now everyone (including himself) thinks/says that he could've been the greatest, but fact is we'll never know because he QUIT.....

I don't know Trent Richardson personally, but I'm pretty sure he's never quit at much of anything. That, to me, puts him ahead of Jim Brown from the start.....

And Trent is a helluva lot more respectful to other beings than Jim Brown will ever be....which shows he's got a lot more character......

Oh, in case you guys haven't figured out how I feel: Piss on Jim Brown.......

I think he quit to pursue an acting career? Somebody correct me if I am wrong.

I have to agree. Having seen him play in his prime, he was as good as any back I ever saw. He did quit playing in his prime, and had a brief movie career. His ego is huge, and I think rrobertson is right, I think looking back he wishes he had played more seasons and enhanced his status in the line of great running backs.

Unfortunately, he does not understand that his comments and attitude just makes him look silly and bitter. I am sure Trent will handle it with class, and hopefully some day when Trent has won a few rushing titles, Brown will acknowledge he was wrong.

He quit because he was going to be late to training camp due to shooting the end of a movie and Art Modell said he would suspend him if Jim didn't show up on time. Jim then announced his retirement stating "he had other projects he was interested in"... or something to that effect...

I would have given my left nut to have had the talent Jim Brown had in one finger, and to set here and have to listen to his BS about other players, well, spare me Jim.....especially when he's running his mouth about someone like Trent who's done everything he can to put himself in position to be successful and take care of his family.....

  • I admired him as a player but something happened when he went Hollywood. He has been bitter for decades but I don't know why. I lost most of the respect I had for him but he was and remains one of the best backs in NFL history. He didn't wear hip pads because he said he want to feel players touch him so he could better respond to their attempt to tackle. Heck of a player but an all-time jerk now.

lmao...if that's true, then I will never have any respect for that bitter old man again. I have seen film, and yes, he was impressive, but...not enough for me to elevate him over the TRUE greats, especially with his attitude, and how he apparently left the game...

  • The man is one of the all time greats on a couple of levels. As an NFL running back and as a bitter man.

Don't kid yourself. Brown is the greatest to carry the rock. Is he a horses ass? Yes. But he's the greatest to do it. Give te man his due.

No. Walter Payton is the greatest to ever play running back in the national football league

Lebron James will never be as good as Michael Jordan, thus we should get rid of his nickname, "The King".

I agree...,I don't think j brown is the best back ever.....everyone always points to his ypc and that's great but I just don't think he ran against the same kind of elite talent that rb in today's nfl do

Brown is absolutely great, but not the best like people want to say IMO

  • I would not pay Jim Brown any mind. He's always been a jealous turd. People like him & Wilt have "insecurities".

Different game too. Brown is and was the Best. At least in my mind. And was voted on as the best by his peers and fellow HOFers. Best to ever lace them up.
