I just watched his highlight tape and I am not impressed at all. Remember, I was watching a HIGHLIGHT tape and over 90% of his throws were behind the LOS. He's got a bad throwing motion and doesn't have a big arm at all. I'm pleased with his commitment. He's a 3 star at best.

Better Basketball player than football player.

Bank on the Newton comparisons because they have height.

He sure doesn't run like Newton.

I am not going to White Knight for AU here but I will for Jeremy.

I have worked his past 2 7on7 tournaments at Hoover and he has clearly been the top QB both years. You guys got to remember he is at Carver with limited funding and a limited weight room and limited budget to get quality coaching. You can look back at my post history on the kid.

He won the MVP at the Hoover/ESPN tournament as a sophmore, beating out other highly recruited and ranked kids.

Who ever said the kid can't throw the deep ball, I will pay you to go watch him this summer at the Hoover 7on7 and if you still feel that way, it's free money to you. You don't put up 40pts a game in 7on7 with a QB that can't throw, especially with the talent that surrounded him at Carver. He was "Cam Newton" for Carver that year. A freak of a talent on a team that otherwise would of been 8-4 and a also ran.

If the kid is properly coached and puts on the good weight, he will be a quality QB and is 10x's the QB that dork Zeke Pike kid is.

I really hope he has a good senior season in Basketball and possibly gets few good offers from Basketball schools that will offer him both sports and he takes that because he is going to be the real deal.

It all maybe moot if AU struggles like we all think and they go through a coaching change after a few more 6-6 seasons and they keep recruiting kids like Travon Reed who is 5 star talent and somehow Troop-de-Loop can't keep him straight and on the field.

Long story not so short, kid is good. Don't knock the talented kid because A) he choose AU (bama never offered because he was going to AU the whole time) and B) because the AU fan base is acting like the AU fan base about the kid and they're butt hurt feelings over us scoring Bateman.

Agree fully. The Aubs acting like this was their #1 QB on thier board---Pleae feel free in joining me in making fun of them. Point, laugh, snicker, pull their pants down and make fun of their small tally-wacker--I am all for it.

But in my uneducated opinion who has ref'd highschool ball and 7on7 tourny's with national ranked top 100 QB's, this kid, Jeremy, has more talent than any QB I have seen (that included Keil Frazier who Jeremy won MVP honors over when he was going into his sophmore year and Frazier was playing in same 7on7 comp with a nationally ranked team vs. lowly Carver). Just sucks for him to be at Carver or he would be a national recruit. (kinda already is with a 4-star grading and multiple SEC offers--just not bama)

Again, bama didn't offer because AU hired the Head Coach of Carver after Jeremy's sophmore season to fill a role in the Athletic department just like Saban did his first year when he hired Jeremy Pruitt from Hoover.

Jeremy Johnson was always going to AU if he chose to play football in college. (I still think basketball may play a role in where he ends up playing)

So we didn't offer because he was going to AU the whole time?? I don't buy that!

Jeremy wasn't a must get for us when we had other highly ranked and talented kids flirting with us. We aren't going to waste our time on a kid who clearly, in eleventy billion years, you never come to Alabama. It's called good recruiting and coaching.

Some schools have it (Bama)
And some schools don't (Auburn)
