  • Not sure if I agree with the sentimate that allen will be a mike, watching his film he reminds me more of a CJ type guy. With his speed he would make a great will IMO he is fast enough to keep up with the slot guys and big enough to cover the TE's. This is just pure speculation but I see him playing "will" and more of a coverage LB rather than the "mike" and playing up on the line.

  • Most of you guys got it. Sometimes two guys who are comparable talentwise have hugely different levels of success. It is largely a function of attitude, work ethic, etc. You can actually, already, see the failures in RF in these categories. Every single year we see guys with unbelievable talent end up as big nothings. Auburn seems to collect more than their fair share. It is the difference in players that Saban gets vs. the cow college. Just totally different mindsets. Saban demands exellence. Trooper, et.al. promote BS. We will see the results on the field.

  • I certainly agree with the OP. But let's not forget WHERE they both ended up and the staff that developed them. TR had much better S&C training under Coach Cochran than BB. He also had CNS coaching him up, as well. Let's not forget Ingram pushing him along. There is no doubt he developed much better as a player than BB, and I think it was more than just a mindset. It started when he made his decision to come to the Capstone and the rest is history.

Concerning the OP's original thought, time will certainly tell. As for me, I would put my money on Allen over Foster because of the coaching he will receive and THE PROCESS he will be involved in.
